How to disable the built-in PDF viewer and use another viewer
I want to open PDF files in Acrobat Reader as it does in Explorer and earlier in Firefox. There is a support message about this issue but it is not applicable to me (wrong version?) When I go to Tools I can chose Plug in modules but there is no entry PDF. There is an entry Acrobat Reader but when I press Settings there is nothing to change.
My basic problem is that I can not save PDF-files as PDF when the are read inte Firefox.
(I have no idea whether the trobleshooting info below is correct, I used the automatic feature)

hello gunnar, you can change that in the firefox/tools > options > applications menu - for more details please refer to View and edit PDF files using Firefox’s built-in viewer
You can change the action for Portable Document Format (PDF) from Preview in Firefox to use the Adobe Reader or set to Always Ask in "Firefox > Options/Preferences > Applications".
You can set the pdfjs.disabled pref to true on the about:config page to disable the build-in PDF viewer.
You can also check the value of the plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types pref and remove the application/pdf part if present.
