Firefox and Thunderbird print background color set by Windows Color Scheme in windows xp, vista, and windows 7
When using a color scheme that sets a backgrond color other than the default windows background color printing will print that background color. For example if the scheme sets a backround color of red then every page you print from Firefox and Thunderbird will be printed with a red background.
I myself use the High Contrast #1 Color Scheme. Its sets a background of black so when I print anything I get black paper with black print. So tons of ink worth norhing.
