Cannot log into new installation of thunderbird on my laptop

I had to reinstall windows 11 on my laptop so I also had to reinstall Thunderbird, but the latter will not accept my email & password (same as on my desktop). (I do not use hotmail or outlook, just Thunderbird.) Is there something I'm missing?
