In my top bar there is a red triangular icon near the book mark area. It will not let me access any other web sites. How do I eliminate it?

Is it in the address bar -- the one with the lock at the left end, website address in the middle, and a star at the right end? Or on a higher bar?

If it's a button added by Firefox, you might be able to learn more about it by hovering the mouse pointer over it and looking for a tooltip. If it's a Firefox or an add-on button, you might be able to learn more by clicking it. Can you get any information about it that way?
