I just had to disable my speed dial FVsomething and Eversync because I found out that it was spyware! Firefox tried to tell me this and disabled it but I put it back, and then my husband checked it out and found out about the spyware on it. I'm bereft. I've used that speed dial for years and it's been such a big help for me. I had over 100 dial all set up.

So my question is, what speed dial can I use in Firefox? Everything I checked out isn't monitored so what do I do?

Help!

Note that the OP asks for a dial extension to replace the blocked FVD Speed Dial extension. You can search the Add-ons website for a dial extension and read the reviews and look at the number of users to decide which dial extension to choose.

In 2020, Mozilla became aware that the developer of the FVD add-on had begun intercepting search queries that were being sent to a third-party search provider, in clear violation of the Mozilla Add-ons Policies.

After a repeated violation Mozilla again explicitly told them under which circumstances this type of data collection is not acceptable. At the time, the developer disabled the feature, and Mozilla continued to host FVD Speed Dial.

Recently Mozilla have become aware that the developer has re-enabled the offending functionality, which remains in violation of AMO policy. In light of these repeated offenses, Mozilla has blocked this addon.

While Mozilla regrets the impact that this has had on some of our users, Mozilla believe that their commitments to user safety and the importance of user trust in Firefox and its surrounding ecosystem have obligated them to take this action, and they stand by this decision.

Thanks for an answer to my question but I don't know how to search the add-ons site for a dial extension. How do I do that? I'm searching the add-ons for speed dials, clicked on the most often used one, but don't know where to go from here. Thanks.

I had 598 extensions on FVD Speed Dial and since Moz decided in their wisdom (why didn't they ask us the people that use the browser & extension), I have recalled about a dozen websites that I had marked. My memory is useless Moz, because someone tried to smash my skull in. I have lost so many tabs, all useful. I have been with Moz since fireFox 3 it looks like, and the way you treated us customers by just cutting us off cold and losing all those bookmarks is unforgivable. I know to carry your copy of fireFox from 1 comp to another you just need to copy these 2 folders:- C:\Program Files C:\Users\Bear\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla If I can't find a good alternative to Speeddial, I will go over to Opera as it has Speeddial native to it! It will be easier to find another browser than find another extension, and then having to go though the agony of being back-stabbed by the people I thought I trusted again!!
