I frequent;ly receive the following pop-up window which I believe is NOT from Mozilla, since the URL does not refer to a Mozilla website.

I have NOT clicked in the DOWNLOAD NOW button, because I suspect that it will unleash some malicious code on my computer.

I am currently using Mozilla Firefox v. 48.0.2 on a PC running Windows Vista Home Premium.

You are correct: it's a fake update or patch that installs malware on your system.

Those pages appear randomly as a result of redirects in web advertisements on sites you were visiting. If you have never tried using an ad blocker, you now have a legit reason to try one. For example:
