Actually the current Firefox 47.0.1 is the newest version WinXP users can download and install if you have SP3.

The reason WinXP users are served the old vulnerable 43.0.1 version on www.mozilla.org and www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ (in which you can update to current from) is because of the Microsoft requirement of signing of the setups on Windows since 43.0.2. It is not possible to tell by the default browser useragents if the WinXP user has the SP3 that is required to run the newer Firefox setups or is still using the older SP2 which will not run 43.0.2 or newer setups due to the signing.

Thanks, James, I know xp users can download + install FF47*, i did it. that's how i know i don't like it. my newer computer is in the final stages of setup & configuration so i'll know not to download 47 until i absolutely have to.

What don't you like about Firefox 47 vs. Firefox 43?? I can't recall a lot of earth-shattering differences...

47's Reader view - which i use a lot - isn't as good as 43's. also 47 crashes even more than 43, which seems to crash if you look at it crosseyed.

How can I downgrade to V44? I hate v7. When 47 installed it did NOT bookmark many of my tab groups and after using it for just a few minutes I discovered the 'undo close tab' feature does not work properly. I want 47 gone. How can I downgrade without losing all my tabs and having to recreate all my profiles?
