Firefox (Mac) randmly causing system notification on mouse click when input language is Japanese (Kotoeri)

Hi everyone,

I'd like to report a problem as I couldn't find anything on the internet that seems to fix it.

I use Firefox as my main browser on a Mac, but from a few months ago when the input language is set to Japanese (Kotoeri input) Firefox sometimes makes the system notification sound when the mouse is clicked anywhere. Also, when this happens it seems that copy and paste do not work using keyboard shortcuts.

I am not able to replicate this problem accurately as it seems to be random, but it does always appear and naturally go away during periods of my web browsing. Also, if I set the language to anything other than Japanese (Kotoeri), this issue does not occur.

Finally, I can confirm that this happens on Firefox 46.0.1 on an i7 Mac Mini (10.9), i7 Macbook Air (10.9) and a C2D Macbook (10.8). There are also posts reporting this issue on Japanese Yahoo Question-and-answer and 2ch threads, so this is not an isolated issue.
