Chrome stopped working when I uninstalled/reinstalled Firefox

The short version: Yesterday or the day before, I uninstalled Firefox as Administrator in Windows 10. I reinstalled it. Chrome was working. Today it's not. It's the only significant change that has been done .

The longer version: I wanted to play Slither.io without lag. One of the suggestions was to install Firefox free of extensions and without importing bookmarks. Because I already had Firefox installed, I decided to remove altogether and reinstall it. To make sure that it was done correctly, I did it as administrator. Everything worked well, except Slither.io of course, which kept lagging. I believe that I did that either Sunday night or Monday morning. Today, Tuesday morning, Google Chrome goes to my home page, but the window is black and the tab just shows an unhappy emoticon and says untitled.

I have gone online and searched out a variety of remedies, including adding "--no sandbox" to the target location under properties for Google Chrome. One suggestion was to disable all extensions and add them back one at a time. I couldn't do that because I can't access the settings. The suggestion that I'm trying to avoid is uninstalling and reinstalling Google Chrome. I use it for work so I have a lot of saved passwords for the various service providers with whom I work.

Any idea? Thanks ahead of time.
