Can't load google calendar

When I try to view Google calendar in my browser it just keeps saying "loading" above my portrait icon and the calendar view is unresponsive to mouse clicks. I can close the tab/window fine. This is on Windows 7, latest Firefox, cleared history, cache, cookies etc, but still unresponsive. What could it be?

No problems otherwise browsing pages.
