what does it mean when it says it can't find mozilla runtime
there are some days when i turn my home computer on and try to open the firefox internet and i get the error message stating that it can't find the mozilla runtime and i have no idea what that means

Download Firefox For All languages And Systems {web link} Save the file. Then;
Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.
Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86) Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. Linux: Check your user manual.
Look for, and rename any Mozilla or Firefox program folders by adding .old to them.
After rebooting the computer, run a registry scanner. Then run the installer. If all goes well, remove the OLD Firefox program folders when you are done.
edit: added Program word as users would have very easily deleted their Profile(s) if they were to find and delete "any Mozilla or Firefox" folder as suggested.

Doing a clean reinstall would only involve deleting the Firefox program folder and not the Firefox profile folder that stores your personal data. So unless you run cleanup software that clears the profile folder(s) as well then you should be safe. It is always a good idea anyway to keep a backup of all data in the Firefox profile folder.

If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
- Do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

Your personal data like bookmarks is stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you won't lose personal data when you uninstall and (re)install or update Firefox, but make sure NOT to remove personal data when you uninstall Firefox as that will remove all Firefox profile folders and you lose your personal data.
