Can I use Webcam.attach on a non https site?

I'm trying to get a javascript page to read from the webcam with Webcam.attach.

The code works under google (if I go to 127.0.0.1), but firefox says the permissions are not set.

I set Allow Access to camera for the site, and it shows that Camera access is Allowed, but it still refuses to allow?

Is there a HTTPS requirement for webcam like google has?
