Unusual error message
Is this a Firefox error message?

No, this is not a normal message. This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
The problem does not happen in safe mode
It appears when I have entered a user ID and password and am about to login to the password protected site. I only appears for a fraction of a second (I have only got the wording by doing a screen grab at exactly the right time = it is not showing long enough to read it). After its disappearance I can log on to the site normally. I use the built-in Firefax password manager.
If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via *"3-bar" menu button > Exit (Power button)
- Windows: File > Exit
- Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox
- Linux: File > Quit

By removing add-ons one by one I do not resolve the problem.
However I have stopped the problem by either not running the Firefox password manager at all, or by not having it save the password information for the site which was causing the problem.
cor-el, have you any more comment on this?
Is the Password Manager working properly (do you see all passwords in the Password Manager)?
Any error messages in the Browser Console about this issue?
Does running Firefox in Private Browsing mode window has any effect?
Is there a way to view Browser Console entries older that those that show when I open it? I ask this because I have added the problem login to "Exceptions" in the FF Password Manager. This was done late yesterday and the Console only shows entries with today's date.
You can open the Browser Console directly after starting Firefox and leave it open to keep more messages.
There shouldn't be a need to add password exceptions in most cases.
What kind of exception(s) did you add?
You can try to rename the logins.json file temporarily to see if that has effect. If it still happens then try to rename key3.db as well or possibly try Firefox Safe Mode to check for issues caused by extensions.
You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
The attached copy of the Browser Console may give some information on this although it is meaningless to me!
The site for which I get the error message in entering user ID and password is lloydsbank and I see reference to this in the report.
(my intention was to upload a text file with this message but apparently I cannot do that - any suggestions?)
Paste that text here and give us the resultant URL. You may want to use more than "a day". http://pastebin.mozilla.org/
I have tried to give you information using pastebin bur am not sure I did it the correct way.
My errors as reported here appears to be covered by the following lines from a Browser Console report;

You will not be able to access this site directly to see the error messages is it uses two-part login. FF Password Manager enters the user ID and password for the first page. The second page then opens where I must enter memorable data. It is at this point that the error message briefly appears. I can then enter my memorable data and access the site. This problem does not occur if I do not use FF Password Manager and type the password in manually.
Have you any more advice on this problem?
