how to sync my passwords from my old system to new system

i had synced all my data i.e: passwords,bookmarks etc..in my firefox sync..but until recently i formatted my system i lost all my data...i thought i would get all my backup by signing into firefoc sync..but when i signed into sync nothing happened..please get me through this...lost all my passwords :(
