I click on the website page and scan through things then close that website. Then I get on the search engine page an icon of that website I just looked through added onto the search page as an icon. I do not want this. I know how to add websites I frequently visit so its not that. It must be a setting somewhere in my Firefox settings. How do I switch this off?

I do not like the clutter of a score of articles chosen by AI on my home page. I only want a blank page the same shade of green I had before with the shortcuts I actually use. Your sponsors may give you money, but I'm not clicking on any except to get rid of them.

How can I get my clean hompage back?

I opened Firefox this morning and all of my pinned shortcuts have disappeared. Shortcuts are enabled in the settings. I checked the browser.newtabpage.pinned pref on the about:config and all of my pinned shortcuts are not there

Since the 153.0 update, the shortcut algorithm has dramatically worsened. First, it assigned too much weight and too sensitive to the recent visits, such that all of the top row in shortcuts are populated with random recent visited websites even though they are likely would never be visited again. Second, neither 'dismiss' or 'delete from history' would clear those unwanted shortcuts. Each shortcut seem to be on the URL level, not the domain. As a result I can never clear those random recently visited domains as I have to delete each single URL I visited. Please revert the algorithm to pre-152.

hello On the browser's home page, because the wallpaper is used, the search tool does not allow the image to be seen properly. How can I change the location of the search tool so that the full image can be seen? Thanks - Heidari

I'm trying to add the world cup tracker to my home screen, but when i click the link, it just puts me in my new tab page with no changes. When I click the pencil edit icon, widgets are not an option for me. Is there a place I need to enable them?

I decided to switch back to "mainline". Opened Firefox after a while. Got a prompt to change my new tab wallpaper, I said no.

Closed and reopened Firefox. Then my new tab page was besmirched with "soccer" score nonsense.

What hidden/non-obvious setting do I need to change to have ALL of this and ANYTHING EVEN REMOTELY LIKE IT off FOREVER? I will never EVER want ANY suggestions for ANYTHING for the rest of time. I turned everything I could think of, including the labs or whatever off but this still came up.

Firefox uses firefox icon instead of website icon. Can change it thru properties/change icon but every time i make a shortcut i have to change it if i want the right one.

I have two windows PCs, both running Firefox 154.0.1 (64-bit) on Windows 11 Pro. One PC has the Daily Crossword widget, the other doesn't? When I go into Manage Widgets, the Daily Crossword option is present on the first PC, but not the other? It's possible that I may have hidden the Daily Crossword widget on the second PC, but if so, how do I unhide it? The PC without the widget is connected directly via a LAN cable to my router, while the other PC is connected to the same router via a Google WiFi mesh.

until 4 days ago my firefox hoMEPAGE DISPLAYED THE ICONS I USE DAILY: xfinity - mail and streaming, Amazon, Facebook ... now I cannot get to any of those, WHY????????

i've downloaded firefox but it asks me everytime if i want to make it my default. i click yes and then the next time i open a tab it asks me a the same question again. when i open a tab yahoo always is the default. when i do a search for yahoo it shows up but the folder never comes up.

The option for showing or hiding recommended stories is missing from my settings, and there are no recommended stories showing on my browser home page when clicking new tab.
