I am having an issue with retrieving my email in Thunderbird. On laptop, using Version 140.2.0esr | Released August 19, 2025. No changes were made to Thunderbird settings. The email is showing up in the Comcast portal, but for now having it forwared to a Gmail account. Tried changing password in Comcast (and in Thuderbird) to no effect. Tried deleting my Comcast email account in Thunderbird and re-adding it, but no change. Can send out email fine, just receiving it is the issue.

Interestingly, I use BlueMail on my phone and it, too, has the same issue and will not retrieve from Comcast. Thanks in advance!

Spectrum forced a password change and now I can receive but not send emails from TB. I have spoken with Spectrum support, been through everything suggested on both the Spectrum and TB forums --multiple times-- including deleting and recreating the account, editing the password, checking for typos, blank spaces, changing the TLS security minimum, running in troubleshooting mode, etc etc. and nothing has worked. I have TB 140.4.0esr on a Chromebook with ChromeOS 141.0.7390.135 and Debian GNU/Linux 12, no separate antivirus program or firewall but do have Malwarebytes. The only recent update was to ChromeOS but that was weeks before the problem developed. I have two other (non-Spectrum) accounts set up on TB and they work fine. I can send emails from Spectrum's website but this is not a permanent solution. These settings match those provided by Spectrum, although they only show SSL, not SSL/TLS.

I have two accounts with Thunderbird (*@talktalk.net and *@tiscali.co.uk). Each account will receive incoming emails (with or without attachments - single addressee or part of a group email). Periodically outgoing emails are blocked, with the error message 'Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Reject for policy reason. Please check the message and try again.' Usually the issue seems to fix itself - this tome it has lasted longer than usual. Please can someone suggest a remedy? Tony

two images. first image, the email that I SENT TO MYSELF, from my android phone, captured a product link, sent the link to me, and opened it on my desktop (or even opened on teh phone) and the HTTP link does NOT indicate it can be open, and if i hover over it, it does not open either.

BUT, if I FORWARD that same email to me (opened on desktop, forwarded to my email, and opened on desktop), it ALLOWS me to open it. why are the links not working if i send myself an email from my phone (where i browse products, etc, and caputere the links)? any assistance appreciated, thanks

Hi

I have Thunderbird 145.0 installed and made the settings for my Outlook mail account as you can see in the screenshot. I do not want the client to automatically check for mail.

However, each time it starts, I can see the notification in the bottom left bar, it will check for mail on the noted server. Those messages are then downloaded, if present.

The options to do that are not ticked, nor the option to check.

Any ideas how to stop this please..?

Thanks

Dear Support, when I forward a message, it gets successfully forwarded to the recipient, but the forwarding message itself is lost -- it's not in the Inbox folder, and not in the Sent folder.

The only indication is a forwarding icon in the forwarded message.

My settings are attached. I'm using IMAP with FastMail. I checked the Web interface and don't see the forwarding message there either.

I also tried selecting the `Sent Items` folder manually in the settings, no difference.

Here's a slightly trimmed `MOZ_LOG="IMAP:5,timestamp"` output https://gist.github.com/igrekster/f694698e4033637f2dd5d6202d99341d

Thanks!

Thunderbird upgraded itself to version 140.2.0esr (64-bit). I also got a new browser tab for Thunderbird 140 Eclipse. However, now Thunderbird will not receive any new emails. I can see that they're out there via my mobile phone. I don't get any kind of message when I try to receive emails. It's as if it's totally ignoring my request. I have two email addresses - it will not work for either.

Additionally, I am able to send emails out to a gmail address. So the only issue seems to be receiving emails.

Specs: - I have a Windows 11 laptop. - I'm using POP3 (I know, my friends are giving me crap. But I want to keep my emails on my laptop, not on the server. I'm old school that way.).

I've tried requesting emails the following ways: - Hit F5 - Click on File | Get New Messages for | All accounts - Click on File | Get New Messages for | Current account - Click on File | Get New Messages for | <choose the individual account>

I've tried the following to resolve the issue, without success: - I saw online where someone mentioned a bug with the new version. They suggested creating a default account. I already had a default account, but changed it in hopes that it would help. However, it didn't. - I deleted the global-messages-db.sqlite file to try to rebuild the profile (this was also suggested online). The rebuild was successful, but I still could not receive emails.

Can you help me? Thanks very much!
