After updating to Thunderbird version 140.0esr, I am unable to create a new email. Clicking “Write” or “New Mail” does nothing – no compose window opens. However: • Receiving and replying to emails works normally • Safe Mode does not resolve the issue • Disabling all add-ons has no effect • Reinstalling Thunderbird did not help • I confirmed I am using version 140.0esr

For the last several days, if I get an email with a link to open in a browser (e.g. a tracking number, and Amazon order, Ticketmaster order), clicking on it doesn't bring it up in my browser (Firefox). It shows a blank window.

I have the latest versions of Thunderbird and Firefox, with the current Windows 11.

How can I fix this problem?

For some time I cannot access any more Gmail messages from my Thunderbird.

When cancelling my email address in Thunderbird and trying to reopen it as new address, I'm getting the message "registration on the server failed".

Then I tried to open my email address on the laptop of my wife in her Thunderbird: there it works perfectly.

In addition I tried to open her email address on my Thunderbird: I'm getting the same message "registration on the server failed".

We have both Thunderbird 128.12

I'm working with Windows 11.

She is still on Windows 10.

Any ideas?

Am getting this message along with a recurring download of a specific email (keeps coming back even after deletion) that does not allow any other new messages to be downloaded. I do see new emails on my phone but will not read into Thunderbird??

Tried: Troubleshooting, closing Thunberbird and reopening, rebooting windows system, compacting, etc. to no avail....

Thunderbird n'arrêtait pas de demander le "nouveau mot de passe" et le rejetait constamment. Nous avons d'abord essayer de supprimer, puis ajouter le compte. Cela n'a pas marché. Nous avons désinstallé puis réinstallé Thunderbird. Puis, nous avons tenté d'ajouter le compte (avec protocole IMAP 993 SSL/TSL mot de passe normal et 465 SSL/TSL mot de passe normal). Hello, Thunderbird has interrupted the connection to a friend's Orange email account. The email address and password are correct (they allow access to the account online). Thunderbird kept asking for the ‘new password’ and constantly rejected it. We first tried deleting and then adding the account. That didn't work. We uninstalled and then reinstalled Thunderbird. Then we tried adding the account (with IMAP 993 SSL/TSL normal password and 465 SSL/TSL normal password). That didn't work. We restarted the computer each time. What can or should we do? I figured TB was currupt. I decided to uninstal TB. Usually TB is downloaded from the Mozilla TB site. was necessary to download TB from the microsoft store, which caused me to lose my 300 addressbook contacts and the recovery address book service would not work allthough I received the message the address book was found on the server. Again the messages were not displaying at all in the all or inbox, or important folders which gave me the idea to uninstal and reinstal. I think the program is pretty straight forward, but maybe I wasn't clear about the messages not displaying in the all or inbox folder, that may be important.

Whatever button I click on, it goes into Set-up mode, though it's already set up on my PC, and getting out of the sequence is difficult, like navigating blind alleys to nowhere.

I get the following error when trying to delete emails:

Messages cannot be moved or copied because writing to the folder failed; to gain disk space, go to file, empty trash, then compact folders.

I have tried this and all trash folders are empty, yet the message remains, I cannot delete, move or receive emails. There are 970 emails in my inbox... I even rebooted several times after doing the above and it still does not work.

What ever instructional help is provided, please include how I can save some of those emails if possible as I don't want to loose them... Right now I have had to go to spectrum to be able to read any incoming emails. Thunderbird is bricked....

For >20 years I have used Thunderbird as my email reader for various email accounts on my mac laptop. Last night Thunderbird stopped downloading emails from my yale.edu account. I tried removing the yale account and reinstalling it unsuccessfully. See attachment. The Yale IT rep told me that Yale very recently added security features that are probably preventing Thunderbird from working with it. They told me to use the Outlook app. Is there anyway I can get Thunderbird to work with my yale.edu outlook email account?

When I select a folder with the columns and column widths set the way I want, then do "Apply current view to > Folder and its children > Local > Local" Thunderbird applies the view to some, but not all, folders. Even if I target a problem folder and explicitly attempt to apply the desired current view to it, it doesn't work. If I create a new blank folder as a sub-folder of a folder that *does* accept current views, I can't apply the current view to the sub-folder. It retains what appears to be a default view.

I can't see any difference between folders that accept "current view" and those that do not. Any suggestions? Or is there a way to set the default view (i.e., columns and column widths, not just sort order) for new folders?

Não consigo abrir ou visualizar as mensagens em nenhum das pastas após atualização da versão 128.0 pois as mensagens (repositório/armazenamento) estão em um servidor na rede, apenas quando as mensagens estão na máquina local as mensagens são todas visualizadas. Instalei a versão 115.9.0 e apenas nessa versão para trás que é possível visualizar as mensagens com seu repositório no servidor de rede.

I am moving thunderbird account to a new computer. After downloading and getting to login screen, I click 'done'. The programme only starts to re-assess/re-test the config. This happens whether manual or automatic configuration is chosen. When I click 'done', it only goes to find the config again. It does not begin importing the profile/account/emails.

I waited a few times ... so it could download the emails/profile/account - nothing happens. No 'progress bar' appears.

How do I get the programme to begin loading on this computer? Thank you in advance
