When I start Thunderbird in the Normal mode, I get the screen you see in Picture #1. Notice the top menu bar.

When I start T'bird in normal mode, I get what you see in picture #1. Notice the custom menu bar at the top. I can still receive emails into the Inbox (but can't see or access them), and I can write an email, access the Address Book, Calendar, etc.

When I then start in Safe mode, with Shift key down, I get what you see in Picture #2. Notice that the custom menu bar at the top is gone. I have to recreate it every time I shut down and restart T'bird. That is unacceptable.

Please advise what I should do to correct this situation. If I can't, then I'm through with Thunderbird (after some 15+ years).

Our organization uses GoDaddy which worked fine with Thunderbird until GoDaddy migrated to Microsoft Exchange 365/Outlook. According to GoDaddy, Microsoft does not allow any of the authentication protocols offered by Thunderbird for SMTP outgoing messages.

Thunderbird has helpfully added a Microsoft 365 option for SMTP settings in the latest update, but when you click that it says that you have to get a third-party paid app called OWL to make it work.

My question to Thunderbird: is this going to be the only answer to this problem or is it being worked on? Background is that the organization I work with has the GoDaddy Account so I have no control over that choice. I've used Thunderbird to keep my email out of the clutches of Microsoft Outlook and would like that to continue. I've also been donating to Thunderbird for years so I'm not opposed to paying. I just don't think I should have to use a 3rd party app for basic functionality.

Since the latest update, Thunderbird Beta won't load all the way on the first try. It will "attempt" to start, but hangs up. It will start if I, at that point, go to the task manager and end the Thunderbird that has loaded in "Background tasks" and then try to start it again. I wish I could say that this happens every time, but it isn't consistent - just "usually."

Hello, After update Thunderbird quick filter became very very slow.

If you type in quick filter field two words. At the beginning is being shown random results not connected with typed in words. Then in 30 seconds or later are being loaded correct results. Not possible to use like this. It's local search on normal PC (with CPU AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G, 24GB RAM) filtering must to work fast. Could you fix that issue?

Supernova has been named correctly. So far it has "exploded" all over. Once again I can not click on an email link and have it open in Firefox. (1) Quick filter doesn't seem to work very well any more. It might give me what I am looking for, but when I close it quick filter, it starts putting back messages very slowly one at a time for minutes. (3) I am getting fairly constant messages that it can't write to disk because the disk is full or it doesn't have permissions (both of which are wrong). (4) I have a sub-folder that contains 2022 emails and it has started listing those emails as part of the current inbox and no longer shows them as part of the 2022 sub-folder. (5) And finally it has crashed several time.

This all started when I let the update for Supernova install and it just keeps getting worse. Any suggestions?

Hi, my mailbox on the server is set to 5Gb. However the size of the IMAP directory of this mailbox on my hard disc is almost 22Gb. Sometimes I occured the situation that the mailbox's size on server lik 500Mb the IMAP catalogue took 80Gb of disk space. What might be the reason. Using 'cleaning' option does not help. Hi there. Hoping someone can help me resolve this.

My Thunderbird email account is connected to Sage Online (promo products and apparel platform). If I click on an item and choose to share it with a customer, an email will open and will usually include the said link to the item automatically. The email will populate but the link is not generating. I've included a screen shot of the error attached, but I can't open it.

The tech team at Sage has already looked into the matter on their end. They tell me the issue resides in Mozilla/Thunderbird.

Can someone please help me out?

I am getting a non-overridable TLS error when Thunderbird opens or when I attempt to download new emails (the emails will sometimes download later after I force a download. I have tried to change my TLS version without success. Please help me solve this issue.

My email setup is to an IMAP server (POP will not work with Gmail.com accounts). See my attached image files for further information.

Excuse my basic tech knowledge....

Thunderbird is clogging up my drive with over 200gb of files and now I am getting constant messages about not being able to get emails because of a lack of disk space.

My xul.dll file is 121 GB and my omni.ja file is 80 GB.

I have multiple nstmp folders (x15 at last count) that seem to be the problem.

Every time I try to delete them though, I am getting a blue screen computer crash...... even in safe mode.

How can I delete those files manually?

If I reinstall Thunderbird, won't it just keep all my files/folders which won't solve my problem?

Hi, I started my laptop as normal and opened Thunderbird to check emails which was fine. In the middle of checking emails the laptop just switched off unexpectedly (still don't know why). I restarted the laptop and was prompted to do a disk check which I did then it booted up fine. I started Thunderbird again but it came up as setting up a new account not recognizing my existing profile accounts which are multiple. I've spent hours searching for a solution, which led me to the prefs.js issue. I followed some instructions to rename the prefs-1.js file which I did and it partially worked but not to my original settings and all accounts. I then copied and renamed an older backup version of the prefs.js file which also worked but then included accounts I didn't have anymore. I'm trying to get back my original prefs.js settings but don't know how to or if it's possible at all.

Yahoo! mail can be received on Thunderbird but not sent. The error message is: "Sending of the message failed. When I click on the "X" in the title bar or select file->quit to close Thunderbird, the deleted emails folder is emptied as configured, but the gui refuses to close. Previous version of Thunderbird in Linux didn't have these issues, albeit Thunderbird has always been slow to actually close.

Every time I try to log in for incoming or outgoing messages, I get a login failure. I have reset the password and saved it in passwords, but neither old or new work. In addition, my outgoing server information has just disappeared, and I don't know how to add it. When I go directly to my Xfinity account (comcast) email, everything works, so it's Thunderbird.
