When you install Thunderbird it gives you "Extra Folders" Such as "ALL MAIL" "IMPORTANT" and "STARED" my question is can I delete these and not delete the email message… (read more)
When you install Thunderbird it gives you "Extra Folders" Such as "ALL MAIL" "IMPORTANT" and "STARED" my question is can I delete these and not delete the email messages they contain? They contain some very important email which are in my other folders and I do not want to lose them,, So if I delete them does it delete the emails that are in there and also in other folders?

I am trying to whitelist a domain name. TB won't let me do that. This company has a plethora of emails. I don't want to whitelist every single one of them. That would take me days. It is impractical. I want to whitelist the domain name which is concentrix.com. I want to ensure that all emails coming from that domain name land on the inbox folder. How can I do that on TB?

I downloaded the free version of mailsdaddy and converted my old outlook emails from pst to mbox. My problem is that no matter which variation of import I use through the Thunderbird Tools/Import menu, I get a message that the import failed and more info may be available in the Error Console (wherever that is). Recently, the Thunderbird email product quit working propertly. It requires me to log into the account each time I wish to open an email. This has been happening for the last week to 10 days. I have to reenter my password each time. Example, I open an email after logging in for the whatever many times it has been during the day, and I need to answer the email but need to get some information first. I go get the information and the email program requies me to log in again, even if it has been just a few minutes. This has not happened in the past. I have been using Thunderbird for a very long time, many many years and never had this happen before. I loaded the program on my laptop that I use when I travel or am not at home. Same thing happens with it.
This is highly frustrating and time wasting to have to do that. There is nothing I have found that shows me how to address this. My phone has a different email program and that does not happen when using the phone. And like I said, I have been using this email program for a very long time and have not experienced this in the past.
Is there access to a user's manual or some quick guide to help me with this? I am not a tech newby, but I'm not an IT professional either, which was why I choose using Thunderbird many years ago. It seemed user friendly at that time.

I am trying to import a backup of my gmail using using ImportExportTools.
What does this error message mean? Is there a corrupt email in my gmail? If so how can I find and delete it so I can complete the import, I think it was close to finishing.
2nd question.... After clicking OK on the error message I can select the local folder it was importing and I can see it is then downloading a range of messages with mention of their labels in the bottom of the window but the labels are not creating folders. Should I expect it to do that?

When I delete an email message, they do not go to Trash, they just disappear. I have used TB for several years but this started happening just recently. I can right click on a message and Send To to Trash, or drag and drop, and both those and work. I have went through all the settings I can find, and don't see any obvious problems. I did find a "fix" from 2023 that involved deleting the Smart Mailboxes folder and restarting TB but that that didn't help.
I have transferred from Windows 10 to Windows 11 and my Address Book details have disappeared. How do I retrieve my address book details?

Guten Tag, ich arbeite mit Thunderbird auf Linux Mint. Jeweils in den aktuellsten Versionen: Linux Mint 22.1 Cinnamon Thunderbird 128.11.0esr (64-Bit)
Auf meinem bisherigen Rechner begann Thunderbird mit dem letzten Upgrade von Linux Mint langsamer zu laufen. Da ich mir nicht anders zu helfen wusste, habe ich in einen neuen Computer investiert. Obwohl der Rechner jetzt deutlich performanter sein sollte, hängt Thunderbird mindestens genauso wie vorher. Zum Teil ruft Thunderbird auf dem neuen Rechner auch keine neuen E-Mails mehr ab. Ein Neustart korrigiert das zwar wieder, aber beim nächsten Start kann es dann wieder genauso sein.
Alles, was man in den Foren findet, um Thunderbird schneller zu machen, habe ich erledigt. Cache gelöscht, im abgesicherten Modus gestartet (da ist Thunderbird genauso langsam). Auch verschieben von Nachrichten in Archivordner brachte keine wirkliche Besserung.
Ich nutze Thunderbird für 7 Kalender (zum Teil lokal) und 10 E-Mail-Adressen bei unterschiedlichen Anbietern.
Als Add-on habe ich DKIM Verifyer installiert und aktiv.
Ehrlich gesagt, bin ich inzwischen ziemlich verzweifelt, was das Thema angeht. Witzigerweise lassen sich die Entwicklerwerkzeuge nicht aufrufen. Keine Ahnung, ob das vielleicht ein Indiz für den Fehler sein könnte.
Hat jemand eine Idee? Oder noch Fragen?
