I'm trying to connect Thunderbird to my Mailcow server SOGo Calendar, but it does not work. It's not a typical problem, because SOGo generates for me two CalDAV links to connect this: 1. Link for signed in users (with RW access). 2. Public access link (with RO access). I want to manage my own calendar, so I need first case. Then I go to "Creating new calendar" window in thunderbird, enter public access link just to check, and calendar is connected! But it's not all. Then I go back and paste link number 1, also providing credentials info (I have tried a lot of variants, also "test@example.com:password", "test@example.com" and so on) and after pressing "Next" button I get a typical connect error like "Could not find your server, please check entered info".
I have done a lot of tests and checks, and this is a strange details, that I caught and I think it is a Thunderbird bug (I might be not right)... On my nginx reverse proxy I see such log when Thunderbird is trying to connect by my link with RW access: "my-ip-address - - [04/Jun/2025:23:39:51 +0300] "mail.example.com" "PROPFIND /SOGo/dav/test@example.com/Calendar/personal/ HTTP/1.1" 404 146 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:139.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/139.0.1" "-"". As you can see, my server returned 404 error.
You can think, that problem is on my side and my server is wrong, but please check next nginx log: "my-ip-address - test@example.com [04/Jun/2025:23:38:43 +0300] "mail.example.com" "PROPFIND /SOGo/dav/test@example.com/Calendar/personal/ HTTP/1.1" 207 125 "-" "curl/7.88.1" "-"". It is succeeded, but this is after my manual curl command like "curl -v -X PROPFIND "https://mail.example.com/SOGo/dav/test@example.com/Calendar/personal/"". You can compare two strings from nginx log that I provided and you will see the only difference is second dash in first log instead string "test@example.com" in second log. That piece of log string contains nginx variable $remote_user, and that means that Thunderbird while trying to connect my server calendar do not provide auth credentials and send request without any user that I enter to corresponding field before connect attempt.
P.S. You can ask me why do I test connection just by PROPFIND request type, because Thunderbird tries some different ways to connect too. And I will ask that: 1) Only one succeeded request, by what Thunderbird connects to my public calendar is with type PROPFIND (as I can see in nginx reverse proxy logs); 2) Other attempting ways to connect falls with same error and also do not contain any user, as I explained before.
Please give me feedback about way how I can fix that and thank you very much for your support!

I have downloaded my ICS file. I come to Thunderbird and it appears to import. And, in fact, some stuff seems to have imported. But then it stops at about 10% and gives me a message I've gone to the tools, developer tools, error console and I HAVE NO IDEA what it means or what I can do next ...
see attached.
I really don't need most of this stuff, so I just want to import most of it.
right now it appears a partial import has happened. but the error stopped it from continuing.

Hi,
Someone sends me a calendar appointment for 11th of May at 16:30-18:30 and another at 18:30:20:30. I accept these appointments. In my calendar, they correctly display at these times.
When I close and re-open Thunderbird, the first appointment is now scheduled for 12th of May, but the second is fine. When I close and re-open Thunderbird again, the second appointment is now scheduled for 12th of May as well.
The times are completely different too.
I'm using Thunderbird 138 from the Arch Linux repositories but I've also tried the Flatpak package to no avail. I've tried setting my Timezone manually and using my System timezone to no avail.
GNOME Calendar, which is also synced to my Caldav server, displays the appointments at the correct day and time. The web interface for my mail server also displays correctly.
It's only Thunderbird that screws it up time and time again.
This has been going on for years and it is driving me insane. I can't use my calendar with Thunderbird because I keep thinking my appointments are at the wrong time!
Send help.

When I create a calendar event, it will not show up in the calendar view (Month), even after trying several times. What I found is, it will only show up on the calendar if I uncheck the Notify Attendees box at the bottom, which is by default always checked. After I uncheck the Notify attendees box on an event, that event, and each successive event will then show up on the calendar, regardless if I have the Notify attendees box checked or unchecked. I looked to see if I can uncheck this box in Settings, but do not see where this can be done.
Is there a way to have the Notify attendees box unchecked by default when I create a new calendar event?

When I try to import an .ics calendar event by dragging and dropping it onto the events pane then nothing happens. When I double click on the .ics file to import it, then I get the message: "There are no importable items in this file.", but there is an appointment in the file.
In the error console ( Tools > Developer tools > Error console (<CTRL>+<SHIFT>+J) ) I see the following error appearing: "Calendar: ParserError: invalid line (no token ";" or ":") "</body></html>"'ParserError: invalid line (no token ";" or ":") "</body></html>"' when calling method: [calIICSService::parseICS] when parsing"
The parser fails on the following line in the .ics file containing the event: X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:

Who knows what is syntactically wrong with that line? Is there an on-line parser where I can check the correctness of the .ics file for Thunderbird?
The problem appears in the following version: TB version: 115.13.0 (64-bit) Platform version: Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS, Linux 5.15.0-119-generic #129-Ubuntu SMP Fri Aug 2 19:25:20 UTC 2024 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux VCALENDAR version in .ics: VERSION:2.0

Hello Team,
Hope you are doing well. I just installed Thunderbird email client and have imported my Yahoo Mail account into thunderbird. Further, add-ons TbSync and Provider for Exchange ActiveSync have been installed too.
However, I cannot add yahoo calendar. I have tried creating New Calendar and proceeded up to the steps - "On the Network ; paste yahoo calendar URL etc and the bottleneck seems to be yahoo credentials are not accepted. Please help.
Also is there a way to combine my hotmail, yahoo and gmail calendars into "one" Thunderbird calendar? I am not sure if calendar events from the 3 email providers are comprehensively included in my view today. Appreciate your guidance on this too!
Many Thanks, Amlesh

Google calendar allows color-coding of events - but the display is highly inadequate. T-bird 128 calendar apparently HAS no option to color events. But events are FAR easier to see WHEN color-highlighted. Would this be a difficult option??

I'm using thunderbird 115.10.1 on Ubuntu Linux. I've set up a second calendar and associated it with an email account hosted by Polaris Mail. That email address has worked fine within thunderbird for everything else for a long time, but I only recently associated it with a calendar. When I get a meeting invite, for example from a gmail user, and accept that invite, selecting "send a response now", no message ever arrives at the email of the inviter and no email ends up in any of my folders (drafts or sent). It is like nothing happens. The event *is* accepted and added to the calendar, but no respose is created or sent. I have another email account and calendar and meeting acceptances and responses seem to work fine.
I've looked at all the settings I can find and they seem appropriate and analogous to those with the working email/calendar. The correct email address appears in the calendar properties opened by right-clicking on the Calendar and selecting properties.
Any help? Thanks.

I am using Thunderbird version 115.12.2 on Windows 10 and have set up about 36 different calendars. To tidy up a bit, I would like to hide all calendars AT ONCE and in the next step show each (separate) calendar INDIVIDUALLY. ONLY: HOW do I hide all calendars at once? Possibly accessible via extensions / add-ons? Which extensions would be recommended? Thanks for all your help.

After an update to Thunderbird around 8/10/24, I can still list future calendar events, but no longer past events. It is very useful for me to list past events. For example, I can quickly find out when I last had a flu shot. Could you restore this ability to print a complete list of past events, as well as future events? Thanks! Carl Lund

Hello Is it possible and how to search the calendar for all events, even those that have passed. Currently I can search only: today's, events that will occur in 7, 14, 31 days, 6 and 12 months, this month, this day or visible. Sometimes I need to find an event that has already passed 2-3 months ago and the quick search does not find it. Your Outlook competitor searches in all events without any problem. Is it possible to search in all or maybe there is a plug-in?

The same thing happened to my income tax software - a major change without notice before OR after, and it threw off a multitude of users at the beginning of las tax season.
Thanks for an otherwise great product over the years!

Dear Mozilla, What is your definition of a basic, standalone, digital calendar? "Search", as a basic function, is extremely limited.

Lightning had the ability to search the entire calendar for an event, sadly, this new iteration of the calendar built into Thunderbird 128.0.1esr doesn't support anything but today or later events.
Most of the time I use the calendar to search for a previous event (when I was previously somewhere). This is very important and an oversight on the part of who thought the search from now until the end of time was all anyone would need.
Can the functionality be returned to search every event and not just from today onward?

Recent Thunderbird auto-update to 128.1.1esr (64 bit). Now unable to search past events in Calendar. Find Events now relates only to current or future events. Previous to update I had the option to search 'All' which meant I could easily locate previous entries in Calendar, which I use as a diary and aide memoire. Settings provide no solution. Am I able to revert to a previous version kitted out with the 'All' option, perhaps? Please help. Diolch yn fawr i chi.
