If you are one to search around for Thunderbird releases, you may have stumbled onto 127.0 from an unofficial site. I recommend you NOT use it. It is a beta, but not on the beta release channel. It is not intended for general use. Please ONLY use official releases from https://www.thunderbird.net/ If you do install this version, you will be presented with a warning message (see attached).

I've been using Thunderbird for years with no issues but suddenly this week it froze and although I could send e-mails from my Mac (running on Sonoma 14.5) I couldn't receive any. There was no message error, just nothing happened: it was frozen. So I finally opted to disinstall and then reinstall Thunderbird and now have incoming messages again but everything else I had: all my tags, e-mails older than a day ago, my address book have all gone. I've tried doing "import from profile "default" then choosing to import accounts and settings, address books, and mail messages but just get a message that "import failed unexpectedly, more information may be available in the Error Console" but I've no clue how to find the Error Console in question. Can anyone walk me through how to fix this issue and recuperate my old Thunderbird account without using all sorts of technical terms? I'm not IT-fluent! Many thanks.

I'm a long-term Outlook user looking to move from Outlook 2013 (now unsupported by MS) to Thunderbird. I've looked at all Mozilla documentation, as well as Google Search and can't seem to find a full understanding of the migration process. I have tried to manually do so using the Tools>Import in Thunderbird, but I continually get an error message that "the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request". (Yes, Outlook is my default mail client).

Also, I'm now seeing the following on my Thunderbird home page: Secure connection failed live.mozillamessaging.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown.

Can anyone help an Outlook refugee? Thanks in advance.

I had to purchase a new computer and the set-up did not transfer my account of mozilla thunderbird files and e-mails. I downloaded the mz app and followed the instructions to Set Up Your Email Address and the Configuration was found in Mozilla ISP database. So when I selected Done, the prompt read: "Could not get OAuth2 details for hostname=imap.comcast.net." What do I need to do to retrieve my files and e-mails in the mozilla thunderbird website and transfer them to my new computer? Thanks

I get the infamous "Unable to connect to your IMAP server. You may have exceeded the maximum number of connections" error in Thunderbird. I just moved to a new Windows 11 laptop but have signed-off the old unit and old phones, leaving just two devices in Google / Security. Obviously, I have reduced the IMAP connections to 1 on the PC. Still, I cannot get emails on this new PC; before reducing the devices, I could get emails on the old PC, the new phone, an iPhone, and an old phone. Turning off the fire wall does not help. I have done many variations of uninstalls / reinstalls on likely combinations of devices. I won't repeat those here but the net outcome seems to be: uninstalled / reinstalled Thunderbird - no effect

shut down new computer and fired up old computer and Thunderbird retrieved new messages immediately

downloaded and installed eM Client - immediately connected and retrieved new messages

downloaded and installed MailBird - immediately connected and retrieved new messages

started Thunderbird and received the too many message.

I just finished a round of installing / reinstalling Thunderbird but with all the AppData/Thunderbird/ folders / profiles deleted. The Wizard failed to identify the server information, which I supplied based on the three sets of working parameters (Tbird, eM, MailBird) but the error this time was a could not connect due to the Username and Password not agreeing.

I don't want to give up Thunderbird but I am out of patience. Please advise if there is some hope for a software fix. I have wasted too much time on this already pursuing a universe of possibilities. Thanks, Don

Cox dumped all of COX email onto Yahoo. I have used Thunderbird for years but now I cannot set up my Yahoo account in Thunderbird. We were allowed to keep the COX address. Possibly the @cox.net is confusing the software. Are there instructions for doing this? Thanks, Alex stantona@cox.net

Dell Inspiron came with OS on a small C: & data on a massive D:. I assumed the Dell-guided migration took care of moving everything necessary to D: ...NOT!!! When C: filled up with data, I was trying to move Thunderbird TB) data to D: & somehow deleted thunderbird.exe. I realized my error when the systray icons for TB, Firefox, & Microsoft Edge responded "Can't open this item." I then accidentally clicked "Y" to "...Delete this item"? When I went to download a new copy of TB, it presented the new user screen. From previous research, I found my profile file and copied it to both C: & D: with a new name to have extra copies. So I have 3 requests 1) What is the safest method for getting TB back? 2) Once that is done, how do I get thunderbird to maintain everything I need on the D: drive? 3) Firefox now works, but all my bookmarks, extensions, etc. are now gone. If that issue is appropriately part of the solution for the above requests, please help me with that as well. I will appreciate your help! Ken Cawthorne

I've been using Thunderbird for over 25 years and have always loved it. Recently, my emails are all messed up. When I receive, there are 3 sections: the top shows the From, Subject, and Date as it is supposed to do. The middle section is the problem: it shows all kinds of stuff I'm not interested in, such as Message ID, In reply to, References, User agent, X-Authority-Analysis (which is full of nonsense), and below that all kinds of stuff that makes no sense at all (not English). And the 3rd section is where I respond. How do I get rid of that middle section? All I want is what the writer wrote and what I should reply to. That's it. What happened to T-Bird?

Here is a very tiny portion of that middle, illegible section: <v-dpfdcc_lllpljofc_fkjkddff_fkjkddff_a@bounce.e.traindemocrats.org> from p-impin005.msg.pkvw.co.charter.net ([47.43.26.146]) by p-mtain015.msg.pkvw.co.charter.net (InterMail vM.9.01.00.037.1 201-2473-137-122-172) with ESMTP id <20240607200201.KKSQ3703.p-mtain015.msg.pkvw.co.charter.net@p-impin005.msg.pkvw.co.charter.net> for <advenosa@cinci.rr.com>; Fri, 7 Jun 2024 20:02:01 +0000.

I have two email accounts on my website that is hosted by Hostpapa. Years ago I successfully set up email for both accounts in Thunderbird. Recently (probably after an upgrade) one of the accounts stopped working and I get a timed out message when fetching email messages. After checking the server settings and password were correct the problem was not fixed, so I deleted the account and tried to re-add it in Thunderbird. The incoming and outgoing server settings are correct as is the password. I know the password is correct because I can successfully login to the account using webmail. I received the following error message on the "Setup your Existing Email Address" page. The message appears above the "Checking Password" button.

"Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsiMsgAccountManager.createIncomingServer]

The password on the account is 16 characters long and contains the following special characters: "!#"

I am using Thunderbird version 115.11.1 (64-bit) - on the esr channel

Can anyone help?

I have created an entry in my Personal Address Book. When I am in that address book I click on the Import tab. I select CSV file. It provides me a File Dialog to select my CSV file. But then it provides me with a File Dialog to select an address book file. The address book I want to use is the one I am currently "in" in the program. But if I for some reason I wanted to import into another existing address book, I should either have to get "in" that one, or it Mozlla Thunderbird would list the address books it knows about as a selection.

It appears I am supposed to select the file that Mozilla Thunderbird created somewhere. From a search it appears (this is on Windows 11) from the App Store that is somewhere in ..\AppData\Local\MozillaThunder.MZL_h<numbers and letters>\LocalCache\<Roaming | Local>.

I don't understand why I am choosing a file that is already open in Mozilla Thunderbird?

Hello, I am trying to migrate from my Zoho mail server to Thunderbird, but for the last few days, Thunderbird does complete fetching the remaining emails from the Zoho Server - or so it seems. As you can see in the pictures attached, in the morning I clicked on "Get Messages" and I could confirm that Mozilla connected to the server and started fetching emails (there were more than 3000 emails pending), but after a few hours, I am back to the same amount of emails as when I started in the morning. You can see from the pictures that the inbox has 60,031 or 60,046 (i don´t know which one is correct). However, the most recent email being displayed is dated 03/06/2024 (which is wrong) and then there is a blank between emails from Jauary 11th to May 15th. Could also it be that Thurderbird´s time stamp is wrong? Why can´t I see any of the emails I received today, for example? Any help would be greately appreciated. Thank you. (the attached pictures have the time on the filename.)

Why don’t you guys grow up and just charge money for the application like every other successful app? Stop begging for contributions and just charge a fee for the app. I think you’ll find you’ll do quite well and you’ll stop nagging the rest of us who are paying. You all are stuck in this FOSS ideology. It doesn’t exist, Yes, there have been quite a few “Free“ applications developed, but they were funded by someone donating. Usually some liberal cause. Just charge for the app and move on. You will find that you will have a steady stream of income and you’ll be able to develop it more consistently. You might be able to innovate. Who knows, you might even be able to develop a UI that doesn’t look like it was designed in 1995

Good Morning

Please advise if we can get a solution for this problem.

I have a business email account, its desk space was about to be full

I deleted the account from the c-panel and re construct it again with the same settings.

I discovered that I can`t no longer see the old inbox and sent files, they became empty.

I use Thunderbird to read the email

Is there any way to get the old profile so that i can get the old inbox and sent items
