Hello,

Since 2 step authentication has been added to the Mozilla add-on accounts, we no longer have access to this account. We have the email address and password, but cant enter the code for the 2 step authentication as the code is sent to an email that no longer exists. We have another account that we would like to transfer an extension to from the old email account. Is there any way to access the old account or transfer the extension from the old account to the new one without having the access to emails sent to the email address of the old account?

This is important to us as the id of the extension used within the non-existent account is preventing us from loading another extension with the same id. This is to prevent us from having to rebuild our NMH software that must use the appropriate id for communication.

Any help would be appreciated.

Instructions on changing primary email address not helpful-prompted to access Accounts but profile displayed would not let me edit my primary email address. When attempted to add secondary address was notified that code was sent to my old email address was was compromised & deleted by security of my carrier Want to add new email address & add secondary email account. Hi, it's been a while since I used Firefox and I don't seem to have a way of getting back into Sync with my primary e-mail address since I can't find my backup code. Who do I contact to either get my account deleted so I can start again, or get an account reset option set to my e-mail address? Ultimately none of my devices are logged in, and I cannot find my backup code.

The impression I have so far is that you have to sign in with another e-mail account (which is what I have done now), but this is not the e-mail account I want to use.

If Mozilla are storing my name and contact details for the sign in, would the best route be a formal request for deletion of personal data?

Dear Sir,

I have my firefox username and password. However, whenever I try to sign in nowadays, I am asked to enter a verification code that is sent to my email address within five minutes. The email does arrive, but never withing 5 minutes. I have tried it many times on different devices. It may be my email issue. However, I cannot change the email account unless I cannot log it. Since I cannot receive the verification code within 5 minutes, I am unable to change any of my personal details.

Please advise.

P.S. It was very difficult gettting to this support page. I was asked to log in and verify before continuing for some of the support pages. But like I mentioned, I am unable to receive the verification code within 5 minutes. So I am thankful for this page.

When i try to sign in to sync data in the firefox browser itself, it sends a verification to the primary email on my firefox account (old university email). If I try to sign in with the secondary email on the account, it says it requires me to sign in with a primary email address. What can i do update my email address in my account?

I'm trying to sign-in to my Firefox account, but it won't let me as I'm still signed-in on another device. The other device is my old SSD which failed and can't access anymore. How do I sign-out of the old SSD so I can get access to my Firefox account on my new SSD?

Please change my primary email address to: [email edited from public] @gmail.com Cable one has pulled the plug and disconnected my previous [email edited from public] @cableone.net address. No one can send any emails to that address anymore as nothing is there.

I'd like to permanently delete an account that was set up on a former employers email address (email which I can no longer access). Unfortunately I have no secondary email address recorded in the account and all the options on my account page require that I authorise any changes from the email account which I can no longer access.

Is it possible to delete the account?

The Original email address I used to create my Firefox account is lost.

When I look in the support site the advice is to create a new Firefox Account under a valid email address and then I will be able to sync my data.

I created a new mail address, but if I try to create that new Firefox account with that I get the notification that the primary email address of the account is needed to sign in. But that account does not exist anymore. So I don't see the form I have to fill in to create my new account. Can you help me?

I am unable to add a 2nd email address and/or change my primary email address as my email provider host disabled all old accounts in November and created new address details for all users.

As a result, I am unable to access the verification code that is required.

My old email address was: ... @asme.org

My new email address is: ... @asme-member.org

Hello everyone. I had a different account linked to my primary email address and I had this stupid authenticator app on my old phone, which (surprise, surprise) died. And now I am unable to log in because there is literaly no other way to recieve authentication codes. I don't have backup codes, I don't know if I ever had them, I thought it is possible to just get the code via sms, email or any other way, but apparenly not. How can I contact support to either verify my old account sending my ID card or whatever they need to identify me or delete the old account so I can use the old email address for this new account? I also could not log in using my old laptop becase the moment I tried to do so it disconnected me and I can't log in anymore. Also, why isn't this new account syncing stuff from my old laptop's browser on my new laptop's browser? It said it synced but there is nothing in there, no bookmark, no history, nothing. Thanks in advance.

I've seen the answer to this on a couple of other Q&A posts, but just in case...

On the Edit Profile page, under Username, it lets you delete the existing name and type in your own. And a helpful instruction tells you permissible characters. But if you attempt save the change, you get an error message.

The other Q&A posts say that you can't, in fact, change your Username. If so, why doesn't the Edit Profile page say so? Why does it mislead you into attempting to change your Username?

Also, the note under the Username textbox says, "Keep in mind that your username is visible to the public." So, if your e-mail includes some form of your personal name, and that name becomes your username by default (which happened to me), and you never notice this, you get exposed (such as by posting a query here)? But in fact, the "Keep in mind..." instruction isn't fully true. As one of the other Q&A posts says, if you choose a display name (which is blank until you add one), your username is NOT exposed. But the Edit Profile page doesn't tell you this.

So, the whole Username portion of the Edit Profile page is very misleading. It needs to be clarified. And, when you sign up for Firefox, you should be given an opportunity to choose a unique username. Mine was forced on me in the background, apparently.
