Hello,

I have a profile I made changes on and installed desired addons. I use it as a template.

When starting firefox, I copy the template to a new directory and use this directory as a profile path used for firefox. It works ok but I see some glitches.

A first one is that at start time, I see access to some files and directories located in template's directory. A second one, is when I start a second instance of firefox, the zoom level specified in the template is not applied to second instance and the option in preferences is not visible in the second instance. Both are ok in the first instance. I have not this problem when running 2 profiles created by profile manager. And a third one, is that I suspect that when using the second instance, the browser cache(s), is/are not freed when closing the second instance. They are when closing the first one. I have to investigated more on this one.

The point that puzzles me the most is the second.

Does any one have an idea what's happening here and what I could do to correct those points ?

Thanks in advance K.

I am using firefox on a debian installation base: $ firefox-esr --version Mozilla Firefox 91.13.0esr $ uname -a Linux debian 5.10.0-18-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 5.10.140-1 (2022-09-02) x86_64 GNU/Linux $ These days web pages come with all kinds of cr@p; so, at times you need to just get all the links inside the page to parse/eyeball them. What I do is grab the "page source" and/or use "Link Gopher". I have been noticing lately that they don't work anymore. Why? The problem seems to relate to javascript generated pages. When you try to see the source all you see is some javascript one liner.

Of course, firefox must have a way to show the source since it shows to you the actual page unencrypted. Which settings in about:config should you change in order to be able to "go to the source" again? lbrtchx

edit: fixed some formatting issues

I was looking at my event log tracking down one issue when I noticed hundreds of audit failures (outbound connection blocked) in my event log.

Firefox is not even running. I've just started my computer. It's trying to make a connection to google @ 34.107.221.82.

Fortunately something is blocking the connection attempt, but why is Firefox making hundreds of connection attempts when I haven't even opened firefox? How do I stop it?

I looked in task scheduler and couldn't see anything there. Looked at group policy, couldn't see anything there.

A Client recently dumped their Windows server. They ran IIS and had an Intranet website. The website has been static for years and I have set up a method for the tech person there to propagate changes without having to visit each PC, should the need arise.

The browsers were all running NewTabHomepage so that when a new tab was opened the homepage from the website was displayed. They do not want an external website as their homepage as the internal one has links to a bunch of stuff they use all day.

When the homepage in Firefox is set to open a page via file:/// rather than http:// when a new tab is opened the homepage is not loaded. A blank page is displayed.

Is there a way around this?
