It's the second time today i see a video with this codec (as stated by VLC) : H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (avc1), that's not visible in Firefox, while it's audible. Here is the video url : https://web.poecdn.com/public/news/2018-05-02/VLS_news.mp4 Previous one that also didn't work : https://web.poecdn.com/public/news/2018-04-17/NewRainofArrows.mp4
Some working with the same codec, still as stated by VLC can be found here : https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2034078 ; Change : Different CDN, no sound in these video. For a direct video link, here's one : https://imgur.com/BySFQ45.mp4
Not sure what's the issue here, if there's something new unsupported in openh264 or if it's just an issue for some users. I know i'm not the only one experiencing it, cf. https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/8csmvo/skill_revamps_part_3/dxhi8f6/
Edit : Seems like Imgur uses x264 (http://www.videolan.org/x264.html) to encode their videos (ftypisom : MP4 Base Media v1 [IS0 14496-12:2003]), while GGG (poecdn) used something else (Mainconcept Video Media Handler ; ftypmp42 : MP4 v2 [ISO 14496-14]).

Im really confused as this has never happened before. If you have an answer to my problem please explain in a simple way as all this is extremely complicated.

Hi : )
I love Firefox, and I find it simply excellent. But...
in the last months Im having lots of FREQUENT crashes. I dont know why.
it often crashes (even 20-30 times a day), mostly with an empty page (#argh this page was closed), sometimes the program closes by itself, I restart it, it goes for some minutes or even less, and the the problems are back again.
I tried many solutions: I reinstalled it, I tried the safe modus (it crashes thesame way), disinstalled all the plug ins. disintalled the firefox accelerator. tried windows10 compatibility solutions, I created a new profile. i have the latest version, of course.
I have these issues ONLY with firefox. maybe is the 64 bits version? my laptop is 2 year old.
it does not get any better with the above solutions.
below the copy of a mozilla crash report (there are many I just picked one)
could you please help? what can i Do?
thanks a lot merlino

I disconnected sync and had to refresh firefox. I don't want the refresh to change my other computers. How can I make sure this doesn't happen?

Details: Windows 8, Firefox 59.0.3 (64-bit) target from about:buildconfig = x86_64-pc-mingw32 One of the add-ons was preventing me from using the context-menu "Save Target As..." I have been using the same Add-Ons for some time without issue, but I must had made a change that cause the problem, because when I disabled all the Add-ons the functionality returned. In my haste I wanted to try the Refresh Firefox to get back to square-one, but now my concern is effecting the state of the other Firefox Quantum installations I have linked through Sync. Before I did the disabling of the Add-Ons, I disconnected from Sync (thinking ahead of this possibility). I have worked very hard customizing the setting and I am happy with the set-up; I do not want to lose all of that effort configuring Firefox to my liking, so how can I make sure that re-establishing Sync is not going to change the configuration on other machines. What is the proper order-of-operation for making sure that I can get back to where I want to be? I did copy the 'pref' files a few days ago, just in case. What copy operations can I perform on the other machine to backup EVERYTHING related to Firefox and my config to rollback, I necessary. Add-ons I use (all latest versions): CanvasBlocker Clear Flash Cookies Custom UserAgent String Decentraleyes Disconnect HTTPS Everywhere Link Cleaner NoScript Passphrase Generator Privacy Badger uBlock Origin uMatrix User-Agent Switcher

FF version 59.0.3 kaspersky internet security suite
of late, when a new version of firefox comes out they break something.
i am seriously thinking of chrome - heaven's forbid - but at least it works.
so any help to resolve this issue would be great before i enter the evil chrome empire :-(
since firefox updated to the above version i get the following error messages on some major websites, like bbc.co.uk, wikipedia, and others, some websites work, i have added some as exclusion but other websites don't give me the option.
the websites work in the Edge browsers ok.
some website sort of work, they just display strangely, mainly text and very little formatting at that.
i have set kaspersky to not scan encrypted connections in the network section, but that stop the mymoney protected browser from kaspersky from working!
i seem to spend more time getting firefox to work after an update, i'm at the point now where i just can't be bothered anymore.
i have cleared caches and other things i have seen as suggested fixes.

I have tried everything I can think of to manually set the DNS addresses in all of my network adapters and when i first start up Firefox, it shows my DNS (using whoer.net) as the one I set it to. But usually after about 5 or 10 minutes it starts showing either two DNS addresses, the original one I set and also one from Belgium (126.96.36.199), or just the one from Belgium, for some reason. Is there any way to stop this from happening? I am using a vpn and socks5 and if the DNS location does not match my IP address location, then it looks like I am attempting to hide my location.
Thanks for your assistance.

May 7, 2018 : Until this afternoon, I never had a problem accessing the National Post newspaper (nationalpost.com) which is a secured website. Upon trying to access nationalpost.com, a National Post message popped up asking me to "approve ads". In order to approve ads, I followed their instructions for users in in-private browsing which I am, by clicking on the little shield (upper left on the address bar) and selecting Disable Protection. It did not work. I then clicked on the padlock with the red line running through it beside the shield only to be advised that Firefox is blocking me from accessing the website. I must be able to access the National Post and would prevail upon you to please advise as to precisely how I can once again access the National Post. I have been working on this for three hours to no avail. Again, until today, I never had a problem accessing the National Post website. I look forward to your prompt assistance in this regard. I'm running RedHat 7.4 and FF 59.0.3
I went to Preferences -> Privacy and Security -> Security Devices -> Load
I gave the module a name of Coolkey Module and the path to the following file: /usr/lib64/pkcs11/libcoolkeypk11.so
After confirming, when I click on the node for the smart card in the Coolkey Module tree, the Status field says "Ready"
On subsequent openings of Firefox, the Status field says "Not Present".
How do I make it so the adde Security Device persists through opening and closings of Firefox?

Since your last update when I try to load my temporary website to work on it in GoDaddy it goes to the page but the site won't load. Just sits there with the little circle in the middle going round and round. Everything works fine on Chrome and Explorer.
Just tried it again and now it won't even let me go to the editing page or show link to editing page. When I click on "Manage" for my site all it does is show me a page with the expiration date.
I hope you can get this fixed. I hate Chrome! Every time you try to go somewhere it takes you to an ad site or a popup blocks your menu bar.
