I can't change any settings that are presented in a pop-up box. The box is too small to contain the message and can't be adjusted. I can make changes but cannot save them. As a result I am stuck with either saving no history, or all history. My issue is saving cookies but the problem is program wide. I am running Firefox 41.0 2 under Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. This problem did not present until the 41.x update. At that time, my Firefox settings went TU and I had to reload all preferences, (several times). Thunderbird does not seem to be affected.

When I open in Firefox, the 1st has Unicode (UTF-8) encoding BUT the 2nd tab ALWAYS has Western encoding WHY? I must always manually go to View/Text Encoding and change it every time. IE8 does this automatically - How can this be fixed in Firefox so both tabs always open in Unicode?

I am running Windows 7 64 bit. I was told on September 7 of this year that 42.0 would be released on November 3 and it would be available in a 64 bit version. I was prompted today (11/4) to upgrade to 42.0 with no option for a 64 bit version given. I assume by choosing to update my current 32 bit version of FF will be updated to 32 bit 42.0.

How do I obtain the Windows 64 bit version of FF and migrate to it from the 32 bit version I am currently running?

Hey --

Thanks in advance for having a look at this problem.

Earlier today I kept getting error messages when I tried any of the sites I use on a daily basis: eBay & My Yahoo. I kept getting the "Problem Loading Site" message -- of various kinds. I tried over and over, and even had problems accessing Firefox Help. Finally I clicked on "Refresh Firefox" and all seems OK now, so far. the problem is that all my add-ons are gone, especially the ones I installed a few weeks ago to increase my security, as suggested in your e-mail to me on September 30, linking to the site:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/collections/mozilla/privacy/

Now, I really like those add-ons, and had installed most of them, but am now wondering if one or several of them were causing my problems with all the error messages earlier today. Before I re-install any of those add-ons, I'd like to know more abut them -- especially since the error messages have been cropping up with some regularity since I installed them, though it was only today that those error messages became a real obstacle.

All the best, and thanks again --

The issue began a couple of weeks ago. When I visit the Yahoo! News website (news.yahoo.com), I get a nag screen to install an extension called The best of YAHOO! on Firefox. I do not want to install the extension, so I have to click cancel to continue. The nag screen continues to pop up whenever I attempt to navigate to another news item. I would like to know how to permanently disable this nag screen. I have attached a screen shot of the nag screen. Thanks in advance for your help!

Every web page has annoying ads and popups. I have Norton 360 with a clean report. I have updated, reinstalled adblock plus. I have updated Firefox. Nothing works.

By default, adblock plus allows "Mysiterules" as enabled and I can not disable it.

Every website has popups that will not allow me to view the page unless I interact. If I open several tabs to view multiple pages, there's mystery advertising playing on a page with no visible ad.

It's making Firefox useless.

on the "about:addons" page, multiple items are marked in red, I click on the hyperlink 'update now', expecting to find some kind of update method. Instead I am presented with the "https://blocklist.addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/blocked/p154" page, or the "https://blocklist.addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/blocked/p1048" page, explaining why the plugin has been disabled. Valuable info, but not what was promised. Can we please make the "https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/" page MUCH easier to find?

secondary problem, I tried to upload the first 'plugins.png' file of 136Kb. still spinning after 5 min. perhaps I will not be able to get the screen shots uploaded? DSL speed is 1184/488 Kbps.

I LOVE Firefox, and typically run it bare, just as installed, no customizing, no logging into carry my settings and favorites across the 20 or so computers I touch each week. Again, LOVE you guys, but I don't really want to take time on each box to log-in, customize, or any other bells/whistles, just jumping quickly into what ever I need to tweak in my world, switches, routers, port forwarding, stuck print spooler, et-al and go have coffee till another problem pops up

Many Thanks!

This is a link that takes me to Pocket web site that appears the top of my bookmarks under "Show all bookmarks". When I click on it there is no option to remove this bookmark. I did not install Pocket. I looked at it and I am not interested. I do not want to give up valuable real estate at the top of bookmarks.

I have read many posts and the help page of how to remove it from the toolbar is not relevant (it is not there). I also tried disabling pocket in about:config by toggling to values to false. Nothing helped. It uses up a lot of space and very prominent, I find it very annoying and would like to remove it.

I use Firefox web browser, my OS is Windows 10 pro. I am the webmaster for site http://eckankarinoklahoma.org. When I revise and update the website pages, Firefox does not recognize the changes made until I hit the reload (renewal) button to the right of the address. However, when there is no reload button for a page, Firefox never will recognize the changes that have been made until I delete my browsing history. It appears to be read web history pages. I've tried everything, from reloading the page to getting out of the site and returning, etc. to get Firefox to recognize the changes but it will not. Like I said, the only way I can get it to recognize the changes is to delete my history, which is a real pain. The page that doesn't have a reload button is a password protected page. See site mentioned above and click left hand menu item "Members Login here." However, by visiting this page you won't be able to see the problem until you have visited it, and then again after it has been revised. The only revision made to this page is the date in the label asking for the password. The password works fine, it's just that the label never updates and this is important for users to know in which article to find the password. Sorry for the wordiness of this, but I hope you get the idea of the problem.
