After upgrade to v41.0 my Macbook has been hanging. My suspicions point towards the latest version upgrade. Reset FF but ReportCrashes persist. Console errors show many Firefox events such as :

9/27/15 10:44:34.000 kernel[0]: process firefox[527] caught causing excessive wakeups. Observed wakeups rate (per sec): 203; Maximum permitted wakeups rate (per sec): 150; Observation period: 300 seconds; Task lifetime number of wakeups: 861663

9/27/15 10:44:34.047 ReportCrash[643]: Invoking spindump for pid=527 wakeups_rate=203 duration=222 because of excessive wakeups

What needs to be reconfigured to reduce wakeup events?

When I've been playing YouTube videos lately, I've noticed that a bunch of black boxes have been appearing over the player interface (The controls below the video) while the video is playing. Unfortunately, I can't provide a good screenshot, as the boxes come and go too quickly for me to get them. This issue still occurs if I restart Firefox in safe mode. I think it started happening with Firefox 37.

Ever since a recent update Firefox has displayed some odd behaviour surrounding gifs. Occasionally, after viewing pages with large numbers of gifs and/or several very large gifs, Firefox will do things like not animate gifs, or even not load images at all,a and won't stop until I restart Firefox. What is more concerning is that sometimes in these situations Firefox will simply hang and stop responding, forcing me to kill the process. This page shows the hanging behaviour pretty consistently: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1021843&page=21 It seems more likely to happen when I scroll through the page quickly. The behaviour persists when I restart Firefox in Safe Mode.

When I go to "Tools" / "Plug-Ins" and click on "Check To see If Plugins Are Up To Date" it goes to Mozilla Check Your Plugin Page, but fails to show plugins or checked plugins update status. ( https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/?utm_source=firefox-browser&utm_medium=firefox-browser&utm_campaign=plugincheck-update ) I am using OS X 10.10.3 / Firefox 37.0.1 / March-14-2015

Tried, re-installing over original, clearing cookies, clearing cache and starting in Safe Mode to no avail. Another ridiculous oversight and there's never any support for when things do go awry. Unfortunately, I have received no professional concern, with a competent cause and cure. none. And I have had and reported this problem since Firefox 35.0.

Need info and a fix, for Months Now! Thanks! Whitebuck

This issue involves accessing an errant Comcast email address through Comcast home page - Comcast records do not show this username exists anywhere within their system, and said it is a firefox issue. The unwanted name only appears when using firefox to access Comcast home page, and the drop sign-in window. When you click on the bad username, the message states the address is not recognized. The bad username does not show when the Comcast home page is brought up using chrome, or internet explorer. Would appreciate advice on how to delete this unwanted username that seems to be hiding somewhere within firefox system. Grateful to all who would attempt to help.

My hard drive crashed and was replaced by a repairman who moved all the files but somehow 'updated' my Firefox 31.6.0esr to Firefox 37.0.1 (the About Firefox window shows 37 but the Update History shows last update as ESR ?!?).

This PC needs to be on the ESR channel.

How do I revert/convert/whatever back to ESR without losing the settings/add-ons/etc. for all the users?

FYI: This 'update' has broken a bunch of stuff:

  • The Search Bar is now invisible. Already tried removing, re-adding, setting size, etc.
  • Loading each page initiates an error message about a 'getter' and spawns new windows.

ALSO: I tried to attach an image of the issues and it kept hanging, even after creating a smaller version.

Since I can't attach the screenshots, please view them from my website: http://sosayssunny.com/Firefox_Problems_2.png (Low-Res, 163 KB) http://sosayssunny.com/Firefox_Problems.png (Full-Size, 291 KB)

Please help! (I'm already at wit's end about the hard drive crash.  :-P )

Thanks!

Today I get an error that says secure connection failed. It appears to be a TLS Error but I do not know how to fix it. This is for a customer computer that I recommended Firefox to. It was working great until today. I have tried it on two different computers with Firefox installed in two different locations. The page works fine from Internet Explorer (bleck) and Google Chrome (bleck again) Please tell me what I need to do to fix it. The computers in question are running Windows XP on one and Windows 8.1 on the other.

New Firefox user. Frequently I visit text only page- data strings are quite long. The default view for text only appears to be "Wrap Long Lines", which defeats the sorted information by line. Fortunately I found Page Style under View when I turned on Menu Bar. But when I revisit or refresh the page it defaults back to the word wrap, its getting old. Is there a way to change the default to "Basic page style"..or turn off word wrap, permanently. I looked under options but just havent seen a way to change this. Thanks
