While I was typing this question, Firefox crashed. Twice. How’s that for irony?
Anyhow, I have allowed Firefox to upgrade to the newest, coolest version whenever there was one to install, even when I found the new look and arrangement annoying or there were bells and whistles I didn’t want and sometimes hated. Then it started crashing all the time. I reverted to Firefox 3.6.19, which was the last version I really liked, but it, too, kept crashing. No particular site, no identifiable process. Even in the middle of composing an email or when the computer is unattended for a few minutes.
I have disabled each of my few add-ons, one at a time, and it still crashed. I then re-enabled each of them. Same thing. I have reinstalled Flashplayer and Shockwave. Still no joy.
And I’m typing this in Word so I can paste it into the question box, since twice I have lost what I typed because Firefox crashed.
