I think it has to do with cookies, but I can't figure out what to fix. I have my tracking privacy set to strict. Twitch has permission to use my cookies and site data (Settings -> Privacy and Security -> Cookies and Site Data -> Manage Exceptions). All of the other websites that I have granted that permission to have no problem remembering my device, but Twitch does. I looked at this post already and my account was already set to these settings. How do I make Twitch remember by device? It's annoying to have to go to my email and use a one-time passcode every time I log in.

I do a search - then get a page full of hits. I scroll down and click to open one eBay listing - and it creates a new window to the right. I scroll down and click to open another eBay listing - and it creates another window to the right. Pretty soon I have a dozen windows on the right, and this is slowing down my internet experience, until I manually close each one out.

Why can we no longer hit the "Back" arrow and return to the same place on that page?

Greetings...

On a daily basis, I access a group of websites that use the same username and password for login, so logging into one of the websites automatically enables my access to each of the group websites, as a result of a cookie created by the initial login. As a result, I encounter only one login challenge as I actively access each of the group websites.

However, beginning in October, I began to experience repeated login challenges after I had successfully logged into one of the group websites. The repeated login challenges occur randomly whenever I selected a hotlink within the website. The repeated login challenges occur either within the website that I initially logged into or one of the subsequent group websites that I selected to access.

The only changes to my Firefox web browser have been the periodic version updates. I have tried making changes to the Firefox Privacy & Security settings, but the repeated login challenges continue.

I have also contacted the group websites support and advised them of this problem, but they have been unable to provide any assistance.

Could the repeated login challenges be caused by a periodic version update to my Firefox web browser? If not, then what else might be the cause?

Thank you in advance for your help!

When using FF connected to local host by HTTP and web-socket connections, am experiencing an issue when WIFI is newly disconnected or connected.

When the page is first loaded (whether WIFI is connected or not), both HTTP and web sockets work as expected. When the WIFI connection is then changed from its current state, initially no errors are thrown. However, although the very next web-socket request from the browser to the local server reaches the server, the response is rejected by the browser and the socket is closed, firing the onerror and onclose events of the socket. The HTTP requests are still processed in both directions (can fetch without issue) and can request another new web socket connection without error. The error thrown is `The connection to ws://127.0.0.1/34215... was interrupted while the page was loading.`

This takes place when the port is anything other than 8000; all works as expected when the port number is 8000. The local server was set to choose a random unused port number to avoid conflicts with any other running applications.

If the socket would throw an error before sending the new request, then it would be less of an issue; but, when that request was to save data passed in the XOR frame, the browser has no way of knowing whether or not it was successful because it rejects the response, such that the UI and database could become out-of-sync.

This is run under a separate profile that is set to work offline (removing offline does not resolve this). Are there any `about:config settings` that might stop the browser from rejecting the responses? Perhaps it is a security measure.

This was tested on chrome-based browsers and WIFI can be connected and disconnected multiple times and the web socket is never closed regardless of the port number.

Thank you for any guidance you may be able to provide.

Firefox use to keep me logged into Asana. But after deleting my browser cache a while back, it no longer does. Even though it still keeps me logged in to other sites I go to.

I have already tried to get help with this on Asana's help forum and a computer help group on FB. As well as from researching on google. I have tried everything they told me to do and it still isn't keeping me logged into Asana. I am completely baffled as to what it stopped keeping logged in. But I know it had to do with deleting my cache because it did it right after that when I tried to log back into Asana. It never kept me logged in again.

When I deleted my browser cache I made sure to not check the one that said it would log me out of website if I check it. I didn't delete that, I just deleted the other stuff that was in the gb range. So I don't know why every time I delete my cache it still logs me out of all website anyway even though I uncheck that.

Yesterday I reset firefox back to its default settings, but that didn't help either.

Any ideas what else I could try before I uninstall firefox and reinstall it. I have backed up my bookmarks, but the last time I had to import my bookmarks when I got a new computer it did not import them correctly and it made a mess out of my bookmarks and didn't even save my browser toolbar stuff. So reinstalling Firefox is my last option.

For over a week now I am receiving a popup from 'The Spruce' with the popup header being Mozilla Firefox (see Spruce.jpg). The popup has a facility to disable notifications from www.thespruce.com and I have selected this many times yet the popups keep coming several times a day. (see Spruce2.jpg). I have also visited the Spruce website and there is no unsubscribe link. I didn't subscribe in the first place and had never heard of The Spruce before this. Why is Firefox facilitating this spam that won't be disabled?

I had Firefox 120.1 on a Windows 11 Pro 23H2 system and everything was fine, then today Firefox updated itself to version 122 and all my bookmarks / settings and saved passwords disappeared. When I went to the bookmark manager there were no backups to restore but when I searched the C: drive for "Bookmarks*.json*" I found dozens in the profile that Firefox is currently using (about:porfile shows my default and there is only one profile on the computer) and I copied the most recent one from a couple days ago and used the bookmark manager to restore it. However I've lost all my saved passwords and I absolutely need to get those back, how can I do that?

I selected "Tips and Tricks" because I always feel like everyone seems to understand the answers and I do NOT.

I have and donated to Firefox since it began. I think it is a great idea. I have severe dyslexia and ADHD.

I keep add-ons to a minimum and my home page free of everything. I use menus to find what I need. Having short-cuts all over is too distracting. When FF is not available and have to use another browser, I find it very difficult: they are loud, busy and ads are all over.

I am finding "help" more and more difficult to understand. Do the folks realize that I don't use computers all day long? That some people don't use the same definitions as people who work with computers? (I tried to find the meaning of "default" with 0 results, phrased the question many ways.)

I am hoping a beginners guide review would help, as thing have changed since Firefox was new or "Firefox for Dummies" was written!

Is is/are there basic manuals? Please help. ("Please don't respond with what help are you looking for" - that will not help the next problem).
