I know I could use an addon like RunWith to download files to the Downloads folder without it asking where to save them, but I want files downloaded through Firefox the official way. I have “Always ask where to save files” unchecked in settings, but that doesn’t do anything.

Hello,

I have more than 30 extensions, but I cannot add an extension shortcut into my toolbar and no extension appears in the “Customize Firefox” view. I tried “Restore defaults” without any effects...

There is a way to fix this issue or run Firefox in verbose mode to more information why my extensions don't appear here? (Other than restart from a new fresh profile if it's possible…). I confirm that all the extensions are functional and activated. Thanks,

Emeric

My Firefox used to do this and it either rarely does it now or never does it. And that is... when I would type in, say, "anysite.com," it would have an alert and ask if I want to go to a certain already open tab. I could then click on it and go to that open tab, such that I do not open a new tab. Which would be redundant. How I can I make it do this again? I always have a LOT of tabs open!

After ColorWays was disabled I installed the FireFox Color add-on to recreate the theme I had been using

Everything works fine except when I open the Library window or Add-on windows I get the 'Dark Theme' instead of the 'Light Theme'

After experimenting with different colors I found that the 'Toolbar Color' setting here https://color.firefox.com determines whether the Library is light or dark

It seems only the very lightest colors allow the light theme even though on ColorWays the intermediate themes allowed it and had exactly the same level of brightness as the custom one I created

Is the there any way to independently alter the Library color without having to the change the Toolbar theme I read this https://developer.mozilla.org/docs/Mozilla/Add-ons/WebExtensions/manifest.json/theme#colors but it doesn't mention the Library

Thanks

The latest update added persistent "More Tools" and "Extensions" icons on the top right of Firefox. Usually, by clicking "Customize Toolbar" I could remove any annoying icon that I don't want to persistently see, but it would seem that Firefox DISABLED the ability to remove these annoying icons. Please let us continue to customize our own toolbars and allow us to remove unwanted icons.

Trying to download and print one of my tax documents. File type is PDF. Even in the print preview, the right margin is at least two inches, and it prints that way. I tried clicking "more" and adjusting the margin settings, but that doesn't help. I tried printing through Chrome and Edge and it prints fine. Any ideas how to get PDFs to print right on FF without having to switch over to another browser to print a document?

I've always upkept my userChrome.css with two main effects in mind:

- tabs on bottom - general transparency of the bars

The latest update luckily spared both (it actually turned the tabs' close button red, but whatever...) but, now, 3 icons that I had placed on the right end of the tab bar have disappeared; I've already checked the toolbar customization menu, but they haven't been moved there. Anyway, this time I haven't been able to solve it on my own, unfortunately...

My current userChrome.css is: https://pastebin.com/FhqK2BWu

And my "special" about:config settings, which I've customized over the years to set everything back to how it looked before the progressive updates, are: https://pastebin.com/qVDsQ2T3

Can anyone please suggest a solution? Thanks for your attention!

I had some problems with Firefox and in the course of fixing things my 1Password extension disappeared.

I'm using an older version of the 1Password extension and have used it for many years, and the extension was working fine in my Win 11 computer before my "fix" of Firefox caused it to disappear. But I still have the 1Password extension executable, so I ran that and 1Password showed up in Firefox - sort of.

The regular 1Password icon looks something like a door's lock, but that lock symbol has been replaced by something that looks more like a puzzle piece. When I click on that puzzle piece I get see the window showed in the 1st image and when I put my mouse pointer in that window I'm asked to "run" the extension as shown in the 2nd image. The 1Password extension works fine but I don't understand why I'm seeing an icon that I didn't used to see and being required to "run" the extension instead of simply clicking on the icon.

I had to Restart/Refresh Firefox because I lost my dropdown menus and then the Google Search bar in the right-hand corner disappeared. Somehow I got it to reappear but it's too small. I followed steps in several different posts and can't get Google Search Bar to widen. 1. I placed the mouse pointer between the search bar and the address bar and nothing happened. 2. The following didn't work for me because I can't find the “Use Small Icons” box: "Click the “View” tab on the program menu and choose “Toolbars.” Select “Customize” from the fly-out menu and a “Customize” toolbar screen loads. Deselect the “Use Small Icons” box and click “Done” to enlarge the icons on the Firefox toolbar." I attached a screenshot of what FF Browser looks like.
