Two Issues - checkboxes borked in settings, and i hate the new proton tabs and want to revert to the old tabs

Issue 1: When I open up the firefox settings, I cannot tell in the slightest what is and isn't checked off because nothing appears in the checkboxes. They're just empty squares regardless of whether something is checked off or not. I've attached a screenshot below.

Issue 2: I really, really hate the new proton tabs. I had them disabled by disabling proton, but I guess I forgot to disable auto-updates, because I just opened Firefox to find that they're back, much to my displeasure. It's difficult for me to distinguish tabs from each other at a glance now as they are all the same color with no borders *and* having 'autoplay disabled' and 'playing' and stuff like that in TINY all caps font below the tab label is NOT USEFUL. It is distracting to the eye, and I have to squint and lean closer to be able to read what the heck it's even saying. This is shitty for nearsighted people like me. Moreover, at a glance it is IMPOSSIBLE now to tell which tab sound is coming from. This is a huge step backwards in functionality and accessibility.

I wasn't using mozilla for aesthetics - I was using it because it functioned and was more stable / less of a memory hog in my experience than chrome, and I appreciated the ease and convenience of syncing across different computers as well as the built in password management. However, I question whether I can continue to use this browser if you're going to prioritize aesthetics over functionality and user preference.

Seriously - that the tabs DO NOT CONNECT to the page is itself distracting and weird, *but also* that the rest of the tabs blend together and have extra tiny unreadable text rather than the infinitely more distinguishable audio symbol that indicated which tabs had sound playing before is so terrible.

So.... tl;dr: HOW DO I GET OLD TABS BACK?

I want to use Google Docs dictation in Firefox, and I think it can be done, but the standard hotkey (Ctrl-Shift-S in Chrome) doesn't work. Is there another hotkey in Firefox, or can I remap one? I'm using the Microsoft dictation saddle in Firefox and it's screwing up constantly. thx/KC

At the end of October, the Eno add-on from Capital One credit cards stopped working. This add-on produces single-use credit card numbers connected to my Visa card to help avoid fraud for online purchases. I really like the option but can no longer use it with Firefox. I can only use it with Chrome, and I'd rather not use it there because of their constant tracking.

Please make it work again!

Thank you,

Nicolle

I refreshed the browser twice Then I finally removed I installed again and got back all my preferences such as passwords + bookmarks + add ons So, no problem The icon appeared, but after two seconds it was automatically removed. Nothing I did nothing I touched . ??? It is also the Icon of history becomes inside menu in the right side not ( lonely as it was before )

I see this good browser becomes the ever worst

You, yourselves who damaged it. Not the users

since the recent updates gifs no longer play on google or any other search engine I've checked

Type "about:config" into your address bar, then press "Enter." Look for the line that says "image.animation_mode" and double-click it. Change the mode to "normal" if it isn't already; if it says "once" or "none," animated GIFs will not load correctly.

and I'm set to normal I don't have any security software causing this that I know of how do I get my gif animation back?

I have a text input box that is getting filled with my login name. It hasn't started doing this until the last week or two. I believe FF has updated during that time period. I'm not sure if any extensions have but no new ones have been added.

It's on a forum where you enter someone else's login name to send them a private message. Problem is that my login name is getting put in there and I have to manually erase the field every time I want to post.

I've done an inspect on it and it says "input#whispername.WhisperAutoCompleteInput" and in the box below <input id=WhisperUsername" class="Whisper AutoCOmpleteInput" name="WhisperUsername" type="text" value="" maxlength="20" autocomplete="off">

So I'd like to go back to the previous behavior of not autofilling.

msn.com will no longer allow any of my browser extensions to block display of the home page search box and other items on that same horizontal level in Firefox. The tools to select elements to block only select the entire page. In IceDragon, I can still block individual elements. I complained to msn about that.

I've got the Windows Greek version of Firefox installed ages ago and now updated to version 94.0.1. Got really excited to see that credit card store and auto-fill has been added as a feature, but according to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/credit-card-autofill this possibly only available for US/Canadian Firefox owners. Not sure if this holds for build 94 and later though, can someone confirm whether this holds for current builds? I'd love to be able to use this feature!

My settings are depicted.

Hello, I am trying to add searx as my default search engine. Searx runs on port 8080 on my localhost therefore it's url is https://localhost:8080. I can successfully visit this url and use searx; however when I add searx using the green button to my search engine list, it strips the port resulting in an error when searching. This is very frustrating with no ability to change this setting as far as I can tell. Is there any work around for this issue?

Today I ran into an issue I never experienced before and which I somehow can't fix. Whenever I hit the CTRL button (e.g. for CTRL+F, CTRL+A, CTRL+C, etc.) the zoom is decreased by 10%. Same goes when I use the CTRL button to zoom with the mouse wheel.

I'm using Firefox 94.0.1 (64-bit) under Windows 10

I tried closing the browser and opening it again, restarting the computer and using Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode, but the problem persists. A search in the forum here and on google yielded no relevant results.

Anybody who's got some good advice for me? Thank you very much.

Due to recent changes in FireFox, user selected colors for background, text and links are no longer honored, even though the "Always" option is selected. Instead, it applies System Color, even though that option is not ticked.

This is a major problem for me, because I am light sensitive due to Chronic migraine, and the white backgrounds that are common cause me physical pain to look at.

How can i customize Firefox with my own privacy-settings and save those settings for a new installation? Each time after installing Firefox i must go trough all the settings once again. To avoid this time consuming steps, is there a way to import all user-specific-settings for a new installation? The screenshot i attached below clearly shows IT IS POSSIBLE to pre-edit firefox settings for a new installation. Question remains, how can i do that?

For example i wish to always use those settings: (all set to false)

toolkit.telemetry.enabled privacy.resistFingerprinting geo.enable extensions.pocket.enabled media.peerconnection.enabled browser.urlbar.placeholderName > DuckDuckGo

-nevery remember history -dns over https -block tracking content in all windows (not only private) -block cross site and social media tracking -ublock origin extension active -delete cookies and site data when firefox is closed -enable https only mode in all windows
