firefox stopped showing up in the volume mixer = no sound

i've never had this issue before until recently and i've been using firefox since like ever (2010 or earlier), and i managed to fix it a couple weeks ago-ish by following some other people's advice...but it broke again now and i've tried the same things from previous help threads and it still wont fix it: i've reinstalled, refreshed, cleared cache and history etc, made sure it's not muted, checked my volume settings, restarted my windows explorer, restarted the audio in task manager, restarted my pc, made sure i have newest version of firefox, made sure my audio devices were up to date,...etc

i use only a couple extensions and a cute theme and none of those have ever caused me issues either, and I'm using AVG anti-virus if that matters - i'm only using like ublock origin, betterttv, and an extension to add things to a proxy cart that lets me buy things from japan (buyee)

it was working fine last night and the only change from last night til now was that there was a small windows update (i'm on windows 11)

i have no idea how to fix it and i don't want to swap browsers, i know it's only firefox because i launched chrome and that showed up on the volume mixer, and discord and spotify & everything else has sound working properly

if anyone knows how to resolve this or has any potential ideas, please help me, thank you

i would like to control what might appear on my edge browser as two non-desired profiles as of now. I would like to import them in firefox but it seems impossible to import them if not the first profile. It s really annoying and i hope we will soon be able to find a solution.

I can't change the name of one of my firefox profiles. I have an error where the name is too long and it cannot be changed. Is there any way to do this other than creating a new profile and deleting the old one?

My dual monitor system is now requiring me to double click Firefox to work in that add on monitor... WHY ??? .. Has something changed that now makes me click on Firefox twice to be able to access it on my add on monitor ? I have MS Edge running on the primary laptop monitor and Firefox on the larger add on monitor and lately, I have to select the Firefox browser twice before ' focus ' seems to respond.

I have found many sites that work better with one or the other browsers and have my email and a few others on my larger add on monitor operating under Firefox but something seems to have changed and the delay is a hassle since I manage many different sites as a national admin for the United States Minutemen - American Patriots Coalition.

Is there some setting either in Firefox or the Windows 11 operating system that can eliminate that issue ?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I used to build my own version of the ' Nightly Firefox ' distribution many years ago but have too many other ' irons in the fire ' anymore.

Keep getting this on a number of websites. Most of them I have used for years. Can't give the websites as there are too many but some are pitchsidemanager.com, hattrick.org, skysports.com and sportinglife.com . Just four of at least 14 give the Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site message. I use No Proxy and have my anti-virus turned off when I get the message. I have tried various other proxy settings but the same thing happens. The thing is that I have to keep refreshing the page until it does actually connect and that can take a good few minutes. Sometimes I have to restart the browser. Why is this happening since the last few updates?

I'm using Firefox on windows 11 home 22H2. After the recent update to 118.0 I've been unable to load yahoo.com.

I tried the following: Disabled addons Disabled firewall Restarted firefox Restarted computer Restarted firefox in troubleshoot mode

I'm out of ideas except for a downgrade maybe.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm trying to set an exception to popup blocking. When I enter the URL of the website in question and click Allow, the URL ought to appear in the list of exceptions; instead nothing happens. This is a relatively new installation, and I haven't tried to enter an exception before; therefore the list is (and remains) empty.

I'm using Firefox 117.0.1 (64 bit) under Windows 11.

I want to export my chats in Markdown and I don't like how bloated Superpower GPT is, I just need to download chats. I wonder if this has to do with the [relatively new addon domain restrictions feature](https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/addons-restricted-domains). I followed the instructions on that page to set `extensions.webextensions.addons-restricted-domains@mozilla.com.disabled` to `true` in about:config. The addon still doesn't work after restarting Firefox.

I have clicked the 'always ask where to save download' box, but the save files to downloads is still active. How do I get it to ask me where to download to every time?

Hi firefox support. So I have not been able to access a website called "roblox" For ages. When I google the name and click it this comes up the refresh button goes crazy and tries keeps reloading. Please help.

When I have Firefox minimized (with several tabs) and I click on its icon in the taskbar, FF does not immediately open, but little icons for each of the FF tabs show and I have to choose one of the tabs before FF fully opens. This is very annoying. If the program were to fully open, the one tab I was recently using would open and I could continue with my work. Is there any way to make FF fully open when I click on the FF icon in the taskbar? I am using FF 118.0 (64 bit) in Windows 11. Thanks for your help. Jerry

PS: the icon below shows what happens when I am clicking the FF icon and shows the two tabs open in FF.

when i open a new tab,add on managers tab also opens. open another tab same thing, so if i have 4 tabs open also have 4 add on managers open it dose not do it in troublshoot mode

I can access all my desktop bookmarks on my android phone, but when I bookmark on my phone is doesn't sync to the PC.

- I have sync turned on both - Bookmarks toggled on both - I am signed in - I have clicked "sync now" on both devices multiple times - I have un-bookmarked and re-bookmarked pages multiple times - I open up "search bookmarks" on PC and type the mobile website name and nothing comes up - I try and edit the location of the mobile bookmark into "other" or "toolbar" etc and that doesn't make it appear

YouTube videos on Firefox getting slower and jerky. After refreshing Firefox (Settings -> Help -> More troubleshooting information -> Refresh Firefox), it is OK, but only for a short while. Then the problem starts again. Same YouTube videos are running fine with Chrome at the same time.

Running Windows 11 Pro (Clean windows setup not long ago and the issue was there from the beginning.) German Language Firefox 116.0.2 Build ID 20230805021307 Intel CPU i7-1360P, 16 GB RAM, 1TB M.2 SSD

Would really appreciate a solution for the issue because I really like Firefox!
