Help! Please :)

I just updated Firefox and privacy settings have changed. For the worse, seemingly.

Under Options for Privacy and Security there is a setting for "Send web sites a 'Do Not Track' signal". And, I am given only two choices: 1) Always 2) Only when Firefox is set to block known trackers.

I want a third option. "NEVER." These requests are optional; they are widely ignored; and they are -- in fact -- just another data point that is collected. "Never" has always been an option in Firefox. Why is it missing now?

Is there a setting in about:config I can change to ensure that "Do Not Track" is never sent?

Thanks! Kirk

I'm running Firefox 78.0.2 on Linux.

If I try to register my FIDO2 token with user verification enabled, I don't get a pop-up to fill in my token's pin. It does work with Chrome on Linux and with Firefox 78.0.2 on Windows. Chrome seems to use a browser-embedded input mask while Firefox on Windows calls some Windows API. I guess that this API call is the one not working properly on my Linux system (but Chrome has to be using one to access the token, too) or that the pop-up doesn't get drawn/shown e.g. due to me using i3 as a window manager.

Does anybody have an idea how I could go on from here?

At my workplace, if I am logged into my workplace network, I am supposed to be able to bypass the multi-factor authentication step when visiting secure workplace sites. However, after a recent update of Firefox (several weeks ago), I am asked to multi-factor authenticate at those sites even when I'm logged into my workplace network. (This is not the case in other browsers.) I suspect the change is related to a new security setting that cloaks my IP address. How can I tell Firefox NOT to cloak my IP address when accessing certain sites? I tried turning off the tracker but that didn't work.

Hi! I run several messengers in Firejail (basically because they come with no source code available) to limit their access to my system and personal files. The downside if this approach - processes running in Firejail can't access FF folder and pass URLs I click on. I can grant full access to ~/.mozilla folder and that's fixes the problem, granting full access to all my browser data as well. What the particular absolute minimum files/folders I mast leave accessible for messenger process to be able to click on links and get pages opened in current FF session? Thanks.

Open Firefox. Verify no cookies. Clear any cookies if they exist.

Then open a single private window.

Go to tripadvisor.com (happens with some other sites but only a few).

Browse a few pages.

Close the private Window. No private windows/Container tabs are open.

All tripadvisor cookies should be cleared but they are not.

Verified by Cookie Quick Manager.

Why and how does tripadvisor manage to keep cookies on my system.

Hello

Why is dealing with container is so hard? I mean it's like peoples who design it don't use it, there is a lot of design flaw in it (like when it ask wich container to use but you can't select no container so firefox will purposelessly force you to be tracked by Google or Facebook, it make no sense at all).

And more globally, firefox brag to be about privacy, but for the end user like me there is to much design error to make it easy to use (we can't make inactive an extension from the browser, we always have to go to these menus it's really boring and in the end you stop using privacy module because of this)

I think Firefox should not be about privacy on paper only but really designed to be practical about privacy and I think it's not going good and most peoples will end to don't care about privacy because of this (and switch to chrome or else).

Oh and I will be pleased to help and give more detailed informations about all those design problems, and how they occur, to fix them and improve Fx.

But I won't continue to use Fx is the main reason to use it now : the privacy settings, are not easily usable in everyday's life.
