Since the problem occurs only on Firefox where the "Following" icon on my Pinterest home page is missing and not on other browsers, I'm wondering if the problem occurs because of some problem with my Mozilla Firefox. This has been going on for over a week. Would clearing my cookie cache help? Is there a danger than I would lose passwords to sites if I did so?

Do "Race Cache With Network (RCWN)" requests identify themselves to servers?

This question was asked a while ago: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1267945 asking what the "(raced)" values were inside the Transferred column of the Network tab in the Developer Tools.

In short, it sounds like when the browser detects a slow pull of a value from the local cache, it "races" the cache by actually making the network request to see which comes back first to provide the fastest loading possible for the end user.

While conceptually I totally get this, as a Web Developer I'm now curious if this particular network request identifies itself in some way via HTTP Header values?

We actively seek out customers of our web applications to see which ones have "bad" cache settings (no cache, too small a cache, or flushed constantly) to reach out to them to resolve this (and/or find out the reason why they were disabling their cache). TL;DR - I think these RCWN requests may give us a false positive when trying to detect users with bad cache settings... so I'd like to be able to "ignore" these RCWN requests in our analysis (I don't want to block or otherwise interfere with these requests).

On a secondary note, is there any info for the end user on why a given resource was raced? It appears that all of the "(raced)" resources I'm seeing on my frequently visited sites are less than 2.5KB (often under 1 KB) - just wondering if the algorithm to detect "slow" resources is properly scaled for small resources.

The Google search box below the Firefox logo on the Firefox homepage is no longer working. The cursor sits in the box, but as soon as I type anything, it appears in the address bar at the top of the screen, not in the 'G' box. I have tried Refreshing Firefox, and Clearing Startup Cache, changed the Search Bar in Search Settings, to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Firefox 89 has changed notification of FF updates so that it's no longer easily possible to find out what's changed in the update. Which means it's more difficult to find out what changes have been made and if it's worth the bother of updating. After an update is downloaded there's yet another popup re: restarting. How about going back to--notifying people of an update and no longer nagging at them until they do and then nagging people to restart their machines? Why become more & more like the corporate nannies, microsoft & google?

I also don't like that FF, which supposedly values user privacy, requires people to set up either a crowdcity account or use a pre-existing account (such as Facebook, twitter, et al) to provide feedback re: firefox. Since when does social media maintain privacy? And the more accounts you have to set up, the more likely that one of them will get hacked. I don't rarely use social media (may look at twitter accounts for traffic information, etc., but don't have a twitter account, etc) and don't have a FB account. I am tired of being required to set up yet another account--particularly since FF provides no information re: Crowdcity's privacy polices and if FF has actually verified any claims that Crowdcity makes regarding

Seems like FF doesn't want feedback from all users only some of them.

Is it possible to return to say FF version 80?

Firefox hogging hard drive space with temp files (cubeb-shm...input/output)

I've discovered that in my Users/UserName/AppData/Local/Temp folder, there are thousands of files eating up space with name "cubeb-shm-#####-#####-input" and "cubeb-shm-#####-#####-output", where "#####-#####" is a 10 digit number seperated by a hyphen.

I did a basic google search for these filenames and found several articles that talk about how firefox uses these, and normally creates and then deletes them, so there should only ever be one of each (input/output) file at a time. For some reason, I have thousands of these files, and they are eating up hundreds of Gb's of space on my hard drive. I only discovered this because my computer notified me I was running out of space. I manually deleted them, but I don't want to have to do this regularly, since it seems it's not expected behavior for Firefox.

I'm running the 64 bit version of Firefox 85.0.2, and there are no new updates available at the time of this writing. I'm really hoping someone can help me figure out how to get Firefox to appropriately manage these files. Help me Firefox community! You're my only hope!

Hello all. I seem to have a new version of Firefox installed on my computer, or an update has made it a newer version (89) and now it does not save my passwords. When I close down the laptop and re start it the next time I want to use it and go to firefox, none of the paswords I had thought I'd saved previously are there. This is very frustrating as I have a lot of places I visit which I had, in previous times using an earlier version of firefox, saved passwords which populated the correct places. I am no techie so really don't understand what has happened. Every time I want to get onto even my email, I have to leaf through my black book to find the necessary password and do it all manually.

Please can anyone help?

The bookmarks are now all spaced out so they can't be read and they take up 2 to 3 times more space. This is AWFUL. The tabs are now "floating around" so they don't look like tabs and also CAN'T BE READ. Isn't there anyone there that knows how to do graphics? Both of these things were just fine and DID NOT need to be changed. And now they're awful and unusable.

How do I change them back?

What happened & what can I do about it?? Page frames flicker then realign. I don't trust fb anymore & What should I do? Both fb & google!! Google has most of my passwords! I've been watching it all degrade. Is the "Droid" Malware is suspected of anything.
