This problem is new to my use of firefox which I've used for many years. I've never had this problem before. I have version 50.0.1 of firefox. Normally when I want to log out of firefox I left-click on my account photo which can be seen in the screenshot that I've provided and select the logout link. This link no longer exits as can been seen in the screenshot. I am uncertain whether the screenshot is being uploaded as there is a thumper in the Uploaded images box below this dialogue. My screenshot is a 300x165 px .jpg.

I do not like the idea of being continually logged in to my gmail account, or any of my online accounts, for security reasons so please lend me a hand with this issue.

Since upgrading to firefox 50.0.1 I cannot do a search with Google (or any other engine) search. I get "Your connection is not secure". Everything works with Chrome and Safari. I have a MACBook Pro OSX 10.12.1 with no antivirus. Firefox is set up to ignore IVP6 and I have no proxy. I can't even run the "SSL Labs' test page" as suggested by the Mozilla help pages. What is going on? What is stopping searches. I can browse other pages without a problem. thanks for any help.

I was on a website, clicked onto a link & immediately got a huge flashing pop-up with print & audible warning that my computer was locked, & to call a certain number immediately. Couldn't close this page, & was unable to close Mozilla Firefox, & had to use force shut down.

I waited a couple minutes & then turned my computer back on, ran Malwarebytes scan & clean, then scanned again. Also ran Avast Premier, & no problems were detected.

Is there anything more that I need to do, or can I rest easy?

The question title pretty much explains the problem.

EDIT: "Open Link in New Window" works fine, as does clicking a Link or Bookmark to switch a Tab to the linked page.

"Reload Tab" doesn't do anything. The page only loads if I stop it and reload.

Hi Firefox support, I am having trouble with Firefox,on my Windows 8.1 64 bit; was using version 53.0.3 and occasionally crashing, then would not even start in safe mode. Upgrading to a later version 54.0.1and an then earlier version 50.0.1 did not help- crashing just the same on startup. I have kept antiviral software and scans up to date. Also tried Windows Repair System Files with sfc.exe. Here is the crash report ID: bp-750d516e-1705-44fd-be90-1a4961171117 Thank you for your help, In appreciation, Philip

Disable "Recommended" topmost item in Location Bar list

Even with Provide Search Suggestions unchecked on about:preferences#search and History, Bookmarks, and Open Tabs unchecked on about:preferences#privacy, the location bar still suggests one "Recommended" item at the top of the list, even above the option to use a search engine. It is displayed in a different style than any other item. Most confusingly, it's often a website I have never visited, so it can't possibly be getting pulled from my history and is therefore almost always useless to me. How do I disable this? Putting it above every other item means I just have to skip past it to find what I'm really looking for. It behaves essentially like an advertisement, and when it pops up after I've typed only one or two letters, it's virtually guaranteed to not be relevant to what I'm actually looking for.

I have received requests to update Firefox twice in the past couple of weeks and that seems to be unlike in the past. I have read that viruses have been attaching themselves to the updates, most recently to a friend's Avast program.
