ever since updating to Firefox v.71.0 on an iMac running macOS 10.15.2, the menu bar options have disappeared! the only items on the left side of the menu bar visible are the Apple icon and the word "Firefox" The solutio offered in your troubleshooting guide did not apply as my browser was NOT IN full-screen mode and WAS the selected application.

I do have the folder "old firefox data" folder and see something was saved for that extension. How do I restore that file and all my data?

First, I just had a major system crash, had to re-install Linux Mint and through my own stupidity, relied on the wrong backups for my firefox configuration. So I lost my Firefox 52 install with all of my extensions (that still worked). Now, I'm running v. 57 Quantum, and a few things aren't working correctly.
First, the MAJOR problem: when I open a link from a bookmark, it's clobbering an existing tab that I was using (that's why it was open, obviously). That is completely unsat and can not be allowed to continue. How do I correct this? I can't find the option under settings-->tabs to fix this problem.
Second issue (major annoyance): I can no longer create a bookmark directly in a bookmark folder on the bookmark toolbar. I used to be able to open that bookmark folder, and the first option was to bookmark the currently open tab. That option has vanished, and i use that all the time. How do I restore that?
Actually, one more issue: I have two tabs that are pinned and are supposed to be protected (i.e., nothing can clobber them, and I can't close them without deliberately turning the protection off (context menu right-clicking on tab). I need that back, because for some reason, firefox thinks it's ok to open a bookmark in those tabs, too, when it most definitely is NOT ok.

I raised this (and it was off-topic, so my apologies) in the recent thread about getting the tabs back to below the address bar following the update to 71.0. Having successfully done the move - and thanks to everyone for the help - I'd now like to restore the appearance of the tabs and the tab bar to what I had before the update. I suspect that that was thanks to installing a theme, but I'm afraid I no longer have the details.
I'm attaching a pic of what I'd like to achieve.
Cor-el kindly gave me this for my UserChrome.css file:
.tabbrowser-tab:not([selected]) .tab-content { background-color: #99EEFF !important; }
and that goes some way. But I'd still like to generate a vertical gap between the tabs, round off their top corners, and change the background colour. Despite searching around I haven't yet found the specific coding to do this: if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful. Many thanks.

Earlier today I had to reinstall win 10 to fix performance issues as I was unable to identify issues occuring. I have fixed the issues. But as result FIREFOX App was removed. And through this process all bookmarks and settings appear to have been lost also. I have attempted to import and or locate bookmarks but the only thing which appears is NEWER INSTALLATION. Is there a way to find all bookmarks from previous FIREFOX used? Please help?

When I am in full screen mode (so that I can see the button way down at the bottom of the screen), then I want to put my mouse at the top and get the TAB bar, the SEARCH and TOOL bar and the Bookmark TOOL bar. When I move the mouse away from the top ALL three rows should hide again. Currently, two rows appear, TAB and Search and Tool bar. When I type a few characters into the url bar, I see a list of completions from sites I've visited before, and the completion from the top match is highlighted in the URL bar. For example, if I type 'ny' into the search bar, I see a list of sites pop up with 'ny' in the url, and the URL bar itself now contains the original 'ny' characters followed by a highlighted string of 'times.com' since that's the site with nt in it that I've visited the most. So far, so good. The problem comes when I press <enter> however. Instead of taking me to the New York Times website as I intended, the browser reacts as if I only typed in ny in the search bar and hit <enter>, and it ignores the auto-suggestions that it just displayed. (In this case, it takes me to ny.com, which is not what I want). How do I get <enter> key presses to go to the completed url? Worked fine until I upgraded Firefox to 68. No other windows changes. (Windows 7) Other browsers have no problems, only firefox.
No extensions or add-ons of any kind being run. Problem only appeared after FireFox 68 update. Windows 7 useraccountcontrolsettings set to NEVER NOTIFY Tried to run FireFox as administrator, did not help. UAC set to disable (Always been like this) No other changes other than FireFox 68 update.
