Suddenly I am unable to log into Facebook. I have made no changes to my computer or to Firefox. When I try to go to Facebook the credentials box comes up, then before I can type in my credentials another small window appears with the title bar "Not Logged In" and Please Log in to Continue, and two little buttons at the bottom Cancel or Log In. I am unable to input my credentials at all; the little window keeps coming up. I am able to successfully log into Facebook using Microsoft Edge browser.

I am running Windows 7.

How Can I Get My Blank Firefox Address Bar Back?

Why does my Firefox address bar have "http://search.anysearchmanager.com/?_pg=C22B9764-34B6-556E-8545-EBAFFD03F12D&affid=A1I70_set_bfr_H&type=h" in it when I open… (read more)

It's annoying to have to delete all of that before I can enter the URL I want. How can I get the automatically blank address bar I had before? I use Firefox on a desktop Mac. (Firefox tells me there are thousands of results for this question, but I can't find any of them.) Thanks.

Earlier this year (Feb/April) Firefox slowed to 25% of the speed of other browsers I use (Edge and Chrome). With or without antivirus on, all updates completed, even with protective restrictions completely turned off, I can only achieve 250mb down on my 1gb service. If I switch to my other browsers I'm immediately in the 900+mb range. I've deleted all cache, temp files, and followed some of the optimization guidance in the forum, but it simply isn't working.

I stopped using Firefox a few months ago, but have always preferred it. However I will need to abandon it completely if this problem is unsolvable. After all the effort, it is as though Microsoft itself has done something in Windows to target this browser.

Any help out there?

Hi! As the title states, since the latest windows update (am now on 19041.508), anytime I go on a webpage on Firefox it's extremely slow to load, however once loaded the page is as fast as it should be!

I don't have any antivirus other than windows defender, and disabling it/the windows firewall doesn't fix the issue, so it doesn't seem to be linked to that either, on the online forums such as this one I found it was also common to have issues caused by hardware acceleration, playing with that setting does not help either.

Another friend of mine has the same issue as me since the last update, so I'm assuming it's not something unique to my situation, is this a known issue for which a fix is available? Searching for one has yielded only outdated results.

Thanks a lot!

I am a long-time Firefox user, but I've noticed a recurring problem with Firefox on my Ubuntu system (Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS, 64 bit; Gnome 3.6.3; Windowing system Wayland), which is that some of the text will sporadically be disrupted.

When I use "Inspect Element," it seems that the font being used is Twemoji Mozilla, which is surprising as the field is plain text, not emojis or wingdings.

The two images attached are what I'm seeing.

Firefox 81.0.1 consumes RAM until my computer freezes. High RAM consumption was always a problem with Firefox, but the recent update seems to be much worse. Why can't Firefox release memory like all other high resource programs? After about 30 minutes it's consuming 2GB, and my 8GB RAM gets maxed out. I use very few plug-ins and no frills in the browser.

I use Firefox as my primary browser on my Mac Book. I have never changed my default browser from Google and if I go into preferences it says my default browser is still Google. Despite this, about 2 weeks ago all my searches started being in Yahoo instead of Google and it is getting really annoying now. I can't change it to any other browsers or back to Google, it's just stuck on Yahoo.

I currently have it set to open any external link in a new tab. That works. Trouble is it does not make it active. The active tab does not change when an external link is clicked. It works fine from bookmarks, search, and double click, but not from outlook or any other email. Windows 10 Firefox 81. 10-12-20 Have to make the tab active and I don't want to have to click it.

Second question: Is there a way to change the Search engines to only return results in the pas year. That is for searches like phone help and phone software or windows 10 questions.

I've had firefox for a long time on multiple computers, and on the one I'm using now for 8 years. Only within the past two months has this issue popped up. That being: I cannot get any audio from youtube no matter what. There is no speaker on the tab to show it, and I don't mute my tabs ever so it's not that. Even muting and unmuting it does nothing.

The video always buffers for 5 seconds upon loading the player before autoplaying with no sound. Every video does this, EXCEPT for if it's flash based which I tested via this link. Flash audio players have no problems either. The speaker icon DOES show up for these ones, but nothing else.

And there's another problem... sometimes, it fixes itself! Out of nowhere, while I'm doing something else on my comp or on my phone (just away from the browser in general) when I let it loop through a playlist, the sound just happens. It startles me every time, because there seems to be no rhyme or reason.

I've done the common checks you do for your computer audio and it's none of that. Browser only. Restarted comp and refreshed firefox; nothing. Completely wiped firefox from system and reinstalled (which gave me a whole new host of issues for another topic); still nothing. For 2 months it's been agonizingly painful trying to get answers so I can stop focusing on it.

OK, so this Firefox feature worked fine on my "old" and beloved Win7 machine. I finally broke down and upgraded to a new Surface Win10 Pro machine running Firefox 81.0.1 , transferred all my old Firefox settings and saved logins, but now Firefox will not save any new logins and passwords as it did on my beloved Win7 "boat anchor."

I read through the Firefox help section and all I could find is some talk about Trend Micro security software blocking this Firefox feature. I DO NOT HAVE TREND MICRO on this new machine.

The only security software I have running is Malwarebytes 4.2.1 and of course the ever-present Microsoft Security.

So how do I get back my beloved Firefox feature: "Ask to save logins and passwords for websites?"

HELP and thanks!

Firefox has disappeared as an icon pinned to the dock. I can open it, from applications or upon startup. If I minimize Firefox, it shows as an icon of the last open window only, not the Firefox icon. Right clicking does not give any option for pinning it either.

Possibly related, UBlock has not been able to update either. I uninstalled it, then reinstalled, same issue.

Hi, I created a new profile because of crashes. I have Firefox version 81.0.1 (64-bit). I have Ramdisk but I cannot edit anymore the cache location in browser.cache.disk.parent_directory. Recently Firefox asked me to close so it could restart and install an update, and when it came back, it wasn't properly displaying a number of character sets for which I have the proper fonts installed. Sorry for the vagueness as to when this was, but I'm not sure. The attached table of letters from Wikipedia's article on the Phoenician alphabet gives a great illustration of the problem I'm having. All of these characters used to display.

The fonts work fine outside of Firefox. But the problem isn't limited to Wikipedia, as shown in the next screenshot from Tatoeba. And there are other, non-Semitic letters that I've also suddenly started having problems with - I think they're all the kind that a typical Unicode font might not support, leading me to wonder if Firefox is properly looking for another font, and it doesn't seem so, but I've had difficulty trying to fix this in settings and haven't found any threads here or elsewhere about how I might do so.
