Hello,

I'm posting because I found nothing on the internet about this.

When I want to drag and drop a file from Firefox (for example : an image) to my desktop, the file always get placed somewhere decided by Firefox instead of the place I wanted.

Example : I want to drag and drop an image from Firefox on the bottom left of my screen, and it gets placed on the top right.

This is really annoying because Firefox always decide a different place to put the file, and I always lose time looking for the file on my desktop.

This is the only application that I use that does this.

Is this possible to fix ?

Thank you for helping !

Good Morning

Today I had to repair Firefox and after restarting, I felt a strange scrolling sensation, it was not the normal Firefox scrolling, I even thought I had openend the wrong browser...so I went check about:config , and found some values where changed as new default values:

general.smoothScroll.mouseWheel.durationMaxMS 200 general.smoothScroll.mouseWheel.durationMinMS 50

I tought it was me the problem so I installed an older version of Firefox (80.0) in order to compare, and found a normal scrolling and those values:

general.smoothScroll.mouseWheel.durationMaxMS 400 general.smoothScroll.mouseWheel.durationMinMS 200

I think this is a mistake from devs, if i wanted to have horrible scrolling, I could just use Edge instead of Firefox, could you please bring the original scrolling back to Firefox?

Thanks

Hi, I used to be able to simply use the "Print" option in Firefox by selecting it from the top right "3 horizontal bars" dropdown, and it would print the pages I was looking at using the printer settings I had for the printer I chose. Now it ignores an important printer setting I have set "Double-sided Printing" for my HP Officejet Pro 6978 printer and prints on only one side of the paper. Why did this change, and how do I get Firefox to obey the settings I have set for this printer? I am using Firefox 83.0 (64-bit) with WIndows 10, and my Windows 10 is up to date with all updates. Thanks, Jerry

Current preference settings are increased font size to 14pt and zoom 110%. Since I set those preferences some websites, mainly ones with form fields, come up as a boxed question mark. Also when I do an internet search is comes out crazy alien like text / weird code. See attached screen shot of a basic search for 'books'. I prefer using Firefox over Safari and would love to remedy this.

Using current version 83 on Mac OS 10.15.7.

Thank you

So I've recently updated to v83 and find out that that annoying address bar is back. I don't really want to use Chrome.css because I'm not good at programming or anything like that and I am afraid I might break my browser.

I have the solutions for v77 on my about:config and tried toggling them true/false and restarting my computer but I think Firefox "fixed" those workarounds.

Anybody have any new suggestions? Or am I stuck with this (I wouldn't mind it so much but it goes to it automatically when I open a new tab and that annoys me. I'm happy the history part of the workaround is still working cause I do NOT want anyone knowing my history. That's my business not theirs).

Whenever I have to go to a videoconference hosted through the browser (like GoogleMeet or Theranest), Firefox asks me to choose a camera, but it doesn't allow me to choose the built-in FaceTime camera on my iMac. The only option it offers is EpocCam, which I have installed on my phone but never use. (I've attached a screenshot so you can see that I can't choose any other camera – it just doesn't give me the option!) I must have selected EpocCam once several months ago, but I cannot figure out how to get rid of it as an option on Firefox and I can't choose the built-in camera. I've searched for hours to find a solution but can't figure out how to deal with this. I don't have a similar problem on Safari, which is the only other browser I have installed at this point; and I don't want to migrate all my stuff to a new browser just because of this presumably easy-to-solve problem. Help!

Hello,

We are using Firefox 78 ESR configured by Group Policies. Nearly everything works as wanted but one thing:

When we start Firefox an update Message with the green update now arrow appears in the menu and as popup. It leads to the actual non-ESR Version of Firefox that is not wanted. When looking at the about Firefox page it shows that the used Version of Firefox is the current (ESR) one and doesn't need the update. I can't find the setting that stops Firefox ESR from checking the normal update Channel for the Update notifications.

every help or hint is appreciated,

with best regards, Martin

Hello

When it comes to add-ons, then I add three of four at once or the same purpose, I try them all out, decide if I want to keep any of them, and then remove the ones I see that do not serve my target. All normal.

I know that it requires permission in order to have an add-on show in Private Browsing, that's done.

Now I had 8 add-ons on the toolbar, I disabled two or three of them so I can try two new ones. I did not like the new ones, so I just enabled the ones I had disabled, which where previously showing in the toolbar, all of this in Private Browsing having the permission of showing them.

As I enabled the add-ons again, they are not showing anymore in the toolbar..!!

Okay, I removed them and re-added them..not showing. I also did: not allow in Private Mode, then re-allowed..not showing. I simply restarted the browser in both normal and Private Mode, and yet not showing.. I also restarted my pc, and retried all previous steps again

  • This mainly happened as I removed the extension from toolbar, then added it again.

Still also 90% of the time, just disable then enable again, and only a few are showing again. Either when disabled then re-enabled or when removed then re-added*

So, what to do ?

I constantly use the "This time, search with..." option in the search bar to switch between my default search engine and others on the fly. Since version 84.0, this now needlessly prepends the query with a search engine label and requires an additional action to complete (either a return or click of search arrow).

I feel as though the clicking of any of those alternate search engine options is enough to establish intent by the user and should act as a submit button for the request. The only "advantage" this new functionality allows for is a select-first, query-after approach, which I find uncommon.

My request:

1) Return previous behavior. 2) Implement hybrid -- Search-first, query-after produces label; query first, search after submits. 3) Provide an option in the settings to toggle behavior.

Hope someone can help/shed some light on the change,

Thanks
