I've just noticed a "Tree Of Tabs" option. I right-clicked a dozen tabs, hit Bookmark This Tree. The webpages disappeared. Now I can't find them, and they're not listed anywhere in history or recently closed tabs.

The latest updated to Firefox for Mac (125.0.2) has completely scrambled accessing my bookmarks. Before the update I could type T in the search bar and up popped the URL for The Globe and Mail; or N and the URL for the New York Times popped up. (This works because no other bookmark begins with these letters.) Both are in my Toolbar (no bookmarks have actually changed or disappeared with the update). Now when I type T, a completely different URL turns up, plus a drop-down menu of other URLs randomly selected from any of my bookmark lists IN WHICH A T APPEARS ANYWHERE in it; and when I type N, a website I've NEVER EVEN SEEN BEFORE (name.com) shows up, plus a drop-down menu with URLs from my bookmarks that contain an N anywhere in the URL. Why is this happening, and how to fix it? Please don't tell me I have to switch back to Safari.

Good morning, I have a problem with disappearing bookmarks, but I can organise the backup of the places.sqlite, but I assume that won´t be enough to recover, therefore my question is, which files would be needed or is the one mentioned sufficient?

I installed Firefox on a new Dell laptop and imported the bookmarks from FF on old laptp. On my old laptop things are OK. On the new laptop Firefox will ONLY store new bookmarks in the Recently Book... folder, no matter how many times I choose a specific folder from the Location dropdown, even if I only choose Bookmarks Menu without subfolder. Show Editor is checked. I have to manually move new bookmarks from Recently Book..... This is annoying. Can you help? I have not found a forum with this question.

I get the following message when going online with Firefox: "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional because one of Firefox's files is in use by another application. Some security software can cause this problem." I've followed all the prompts to restart the computer, refresh the computer, delete the favicons.sqlite and places.sqlite and it won't allow me to delete them. This happened yesterday as well. Yesterday I could delete those files and everything was restored. But today I can't get it to work.

When you added a bookmark to a site in Firefox there used to be an option that when you hovered over the bookmark a dropdown would appear showing recent changes or additions to the site (see attached). It doesn't seem to be there any more - is there any means of restoring it? Thank you.

I'd like to organize bookmarks alphabetically, with folders listed first, at the top of the list, followed by bookmarks not saved to folders. How do I do this? An example: Folder A Folder B Folder C Acme Co inc Beta Corp, C corp ...etc

Meine Android App Firefox ist gestern eingefroren und ließ sich nur neu installieren, nun sind alle Firefox Lesezeichen und offenen Tabs weg. Wie bekomme ich diese wieder???

With the update to 115.10.0esr my bookmarks that were on the left hand side of the screen are gone. When I look at bookmarks there are a few, but I had multiple folders for different subjects, I do not find. I would like to have the procedure to return my bookmarks back to the left hand side of the screen with all of my bookmarks, bookmark folders, and other bookmarks like it was prior to the update. What happened to it? When it was deleted? Why? Is there a way to restore it?

As of an hour ago suddenly all of the usual suggestions and autofill with bookmarks in my address bar are wrong and out of order. I didn't close out of or update Firefox, I was just browsing online. I didn't change anything in my settings or have opened that up in days at the minimum. I cannot figure out how to either revert back or tell Firefox to not show me these choices so I can get my old ones.

I'll give an example: When I typed in "ma" it would show me mangadex.com, which I often go to. Now when I do it not only is 5th on the list it shows up and fills in "https://www.manticgames.com/", which I don't have that specific page bookmarked. I have "https://www.manticgames.com/games/kings-of-war/" bookmarked, but not that homepage. But now all of a sudden it is showing me the homepage of that site when I begin to type in "ma".

This is incredibly irritating and I have no idea why it's doing this at me out of nowhere. I don't want about anything showing up besides my bookmarks and specifically only the pages I bookmarked.

There used to be 4 root folders in my bookmarks toolbar on PC: bookmarks toolbar, bookmarks menu, other bookmarks and mobile bookmarks. Recently I noticed the "mobile bookmarks" folder is gone. That is where bookmarks saved in the default folder on mobile were synced. What happened?

I have a Mac desktop, a laptop with Windows 11, and an Android phone. I have about 120 bookmarks saved. On my Mac, they periodically backup fine and I can restore them if anything goes wonky. My phone and Windows laptop both show all the same bookmarks as the Mac. However, if I go to Manage Bookmarks to restore them on the Windows laptop, it shows many backups have occurred but only 5 bookmarks have been backed up. I have signed out of Firefox on all devices and signed back in. The Windows laptop did one correct backup showing the 120 or so bookmarks, and then every subsequent backup shows only 5 again. After a few weeks, the "correct" backup has been overwritten and is gone.

Anybody know what I can check to make the Windows laptop backup my bookmarks correctly?

To upload/import bookmarks into Firefox, the file extension of JSON is required. However from old crashed computer, I exported bookmarks in Excel. Please help. Thanks

My Windows 10 PC stopped working a few days & is disconnected & partially disassembled. I’m temporarily using an old Windows 7 PC which I brought up from the basement the following day. They both have Firefox on them.

I saved one bookmark on the Win7 PC today. It was there when I looked earlier. Now I went to use it again & it’s not there. But my Win10 bookmarks are there!!

How could that be?
