In the browser settings I use a color preference that replaces white with black, this works with pages where Dark Reader is not available. These settings are needed so that when surfing the web at night with the dark mode on, my eyes don't hurt from contrasting bright white elements with dark-colored pages. For example, it works on single image pages - in situations where except for the image the rest of the page is colored solid white; It also works for some add-ons - on settings pages and pop-ups.

I'm interested in being able to automate toggling on/off the «Use system colors» checkbox, which is in the browser «Color» settings. It would be great to somehow synchronize the activation of night mode in Dark Reader with disabling checkbox responsible for using system colors. Or, for example, make it so that when the «Website appearance» setting is set to «Automatic», the checkbox is switched accordingly together with it - being disabled when the appearance is dark and enabled when it is light.

I deleted Firefox from my Windows 11 computer because it was having issues. I reinstalled but I did not get back the same settings I have on my laptop. I have tried to do a complete uninstall and remove all Firefox files but, there are files attached to my Avast antivirus that I can't delete. Also when I down load it wont Sync. Firefox is my browser of preference and I do not want to use another browser. I should also note that Firefox has been completely removed from program files, program files(x86) as well as program data but there are still file in Avast and Windows. See picture attached. In a recent Firefox browser update, my ability to reference my home router by name via the Windows HOSTS file stopped. I can ping the router by name from a CMD window just fine but keying the name into Firefox now fails. Images show the two forms of failure - a 500 Error when DNS over HTTPS is enabled; a 'having problems' error with suggestion of www..com alternative when DNS over HTTPS is disabled. Neither is the least bit helpful.

I can't imagine what changed and I can't find a prior support response that gives any clear ideas.

Hello. I experience a problem that occurred 2 days ago. Firefox seems to ignore my preferences of opening previous windows and tabs, also it ignores pinned tabs. Some of websites disappear from the history (let's say i opened few windows to check if tabs will be saved by firefox, closed browser, opened it after few minutes: tabs are gone, history has only few of websites that were open. I tried to look for the problem by myself but failed. I will be grateful for your reply, thank you in advance.

Randomly after certain updates, the browser history gets randomly erased. The cookies are not deleted, so my sign in information is retained across my usual website (no issue here).

I wanted to report this as it happened twice around the past two weeks and it was inconvenient.

I have Canon EOS Utility installed in order to use a better camera when streaming. For some reason, when I'm using Google Meets, it will only let me use EOS Utility, ignoring the option of using my laptop's webcam. I've tried revoking permission, but when it asks me for permission again it won't show me my laptop's camera, only EOS Uitlity. I've tried disabling EOS Utility under Windows settings, but it's still the only camera that appears.

I just installed FireFox but keep getting Chrome browser. How do I set FireFox as my default browser? My bookmark tab icons keep changing - how to change them back permanently ?

I have a problem. When I access my Firefox main default screen I open up a respective website I want to access but within a matter of a few seconds the main default screen automatically opens up again meaning I now have two windows open which shouldn’t happen! I have opened up ‘Help’ and have refreshed Firefox a few times now. Additionally, I have opened ‘Troubleshooting Mode’ which comes up with ‘Restart’ then ‘Open’ and I have ‘Refreshed Firefox’ from this option. I have cleared my Cookies and Cache. I asked for help through the Firefox Community. I received one response asking if the problem still happened in ‘Troubleshooting Mode’. My response 'yes' it does but I have not had any other reply. Hence, I am stuck. Nothing has worked which I find very frustrating. I have used Firefox for many years now but if I cannot resolve this matter I will have to select a different browser which I don’t really want to do.

The following html inscription animates when clicked (the duck in the image quacks), but for some reason, the animation doesn't activate on http://ord.io with the firefox browser. I wanted to bring this to your attention because It works on http://ord.io with every other browser.

Every time I browse incognito mode and download files (pdf mostly), then I exit the browser and my files disappear from the Downloads folder in Windows 11. It has been like this for a long time now. I have to remember to cut and paste them to another folder before shutting the browser down, but when I forget it's annoying. Can this be fixed?

When I'm viewing a PDF from within Firefox and try to print the page, it shows a smaller version between 1/2-3/4 of the size of the paper. I have "fit to page selected" and this doesn't change it. I try a larger than 100% scale and this doesn't change it either.

However when I download the pdf and pull it up using Acrobat it allows me to print full page, fit to page, scale, etc no problem.

Initially I thought it was my printer, but I removed and reinstalled the drivers for the printer and I don't have this issue with any other program except for printing from Firefox. It's almost like the Firefox browser has too small of a page default set so that it's fitting to a page, but the page is smaller than 8.5x11 printer paper.

How do I fix this?

In devtools when i search in all resources it takes 2+ minutes to find all of the matches, while chrome is near instant, same website. theres around 200 requests. On my laptop it completes faster though so im a little confused.

Since about two days ago firefox on both my PC and laptop has been trying to connect to a random website called ponf.linkedin.com that I have no idea where it came out of.

I have no clue why this was but I reset both browsers on both devices + reinstalled windows 11 on my main PC and it only continues happening on my PC now, i've managed to replicate the behaviour by resetting the browser and everytime that happens firefox attempts to connect to this website even though bitdefender blocks it and nothing comes up, no popup or anything as if its just in the shadows.

Does anyone have any idea why this would be and what I should do? any help is appreciated thanks.

In regular web pages, I'm able to hover over an URL / picture w/ URL behind it, etc.... It shows up on the status bar at the bottom of the page (that's what it used to be called). Sometimes I can't.

Somewhere around the same time as I started noticing this, I had just upgraded to a Win11 computer. So, when I try to hover over a suspicious link, I get nothing!

Is there code these people can put in that shields them from hover? So, we can't see what we're getting into? If so, then I presume if I can't hover, don't click... Right?

For example, firefox is open in the background and when I click on a url from discord, it opens the link in firefox but does not bring the page to me, I need to minimize the discord.
