I have accessed (Google) Youtube - History, over Firefox/DuckDuckGo for a number of years now without difficulty. Recently Google introduced a Two-step security check and, when selected, a question was sent to the handset (which I use as a tether for two laptops) which always quickly appeared and quickly responded to my finger's touch. In the last couple of weeks the question is still asked but nothing comes through to the handset, or the standby handset. For a test I then went through Google Chrome and that opens the Youtube History without any questions etc. It seems to hint that Google are using the Two-step etc to keep out access over other Browsers. I am based in the UK. All suggestions will be welcome. Kind regards, Tim Simpson

on the 16th of March, I lost my backpack which had a large number of irreplacible values on a train. One that is replaceable was my laptop that I use a lot with firefox.

IS it possible to find the location of my laptop via Firefox?

A setting that shows recent login activity? Anything at all! IP addresses, A website that was opened in a location? Maybe someone found my laptop and for whatever reason, opened my browser. The only browsers I have are Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

If you have any knowledge about finding the location of a laptop beyond using Firefox, I would greatly greatly appreciate any advice or any knowledge you could share with me that I could try. Laptop uses Windows 11.

bold text I have tried all options that are available. I cannot find my BOOKMARKS. This happened two days ago and I have tried, I have the bookmarks on a HTML file bit it says the file is empty.

I am an 84-year-old newbie! I have enabled 2 FA. But... when I click on Firefox in the taskbar F/fox opens and I can access all the bookmarks in the bookmark bar without any more security.

When does the 2FA come into this?

Recently all the pocket recommendations have been for topics in India. As I'm not in India, it is strange. Is there a way to reset the location for the recommendations?

When I open Firefox to my home page any additional tabs that I open keep crashing. The page tells me that it has crashed and there is a restore tab button there but that doesn't work and the crash message just comes back.

I use Bomgar / Beyond Trust for remote support for my Linux system. The bomgar file that I download is a .desktop file. Ever since Firefox version 119, this file no longer downloads correctly. Instead of getting a .desktop file, I now get a .desktop.download file and the file will not run. This appears to be an issue with Firefox because the file downloads and runs correctly if I use Chrome. It also worked just fine in Firefox before version 119. Any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated

During the week-end my email stopped sending emails. It asks for a password but even with a new password it will not send. I have worked with my email provider but all they can suggest is to contact you or to reinstall the email program. What can you suggest or is this enough information?

New computer, new install, when trying to log in to my account to set up sync/migrate, Firefox claims the password is incorrect ... the same password I just used on this (old) computer to log in and ask this question!

I've had issues with this before, when I synced up my phone. Took several attempts to log it in.

Also, tried changing password, but for some reason it won't accept a new one? (That's different issue. Would prefer to log in with current password. at least)

But you won't know it until you access more unique folders than you already have in the list.

For instance, when you access the 8th folder that is different it will be sticky, when you access a 9th that is different it will be sticky. Kind of like a "most recently used" list. You won't see the extras until they happen.

Solution given by Cor-el: There is a pref on the about:config page that defaults to 7 to set the number of entries to show in this list of recently used folders.

it was oki going live on tango from my pc on windows on firefox browser and 2 or 3 dayes ago it only crash message .. oopss ,,, Something went wrong. We will be back shortly ... reload

Hi,

I noticed that the shortlinks/websites on my startpage (the House icon) are placing cookies as soon as I start Firefox. Not all of them and also in a random manor. This does not happen in Private Navigation, which i almost never use.

For me this is rather strange, I do not visit these shortlinks and already being tracked by those cookies. How can this be changed?

My settings are to clear all cookies and history at closure. Subquestion: Do I need to choose Options/Close or does this also work by clicking the X in the right upperhand corner to close Firefox.

I have moved to another password manager, and would like to completely remove my saved logins from my Firefox account and stop using the auto-fill, auto-suggest feature. However, no matter how many times I delete my passwords and Sync, they keep appearing in my Android Firefox app. I have cleared the app Storage and Cache, I have reinstalled it from scratch, but no matter what I do they reappear. My (also Synced) PC on which I deleted the passwords has not shown it again since I deleted them there.

I just want to completely delete all my logins in my Firefox account, permanently and across all my devices. How can I do this?

I'm having a problem logging into one of my banking sites. I talked to the bank tech support yesterday and did a password reset. There was nothing wrong with my old password. That worked yesterday but today I'm back to the same problem. It won't log me in.

I deleted cookies and cleared cache but still not logging me in. I tried another browser (Edge) and got right in. In Firefox, I use private mode to log into financial accounts but I also tried the regular browser and still won't let me in. This is the only account I have a login problem with. It did work after the password reset if that's a clue but I don't want to have to do that every day just to check my account.

I Have used Firefox as my main browser for a long time. I've also played the games on pch.com (Publishers Clearing House) for years. About ten days ago, I started having problems connecting. The error messages have changed a little each time, but still no access. I've also tried Chrome and Edge, and still no access. Today, I tried to access on my phone and got a 'site is not secure' message. Any idea what's causing this or what the problem may be? Have you heard about changes to the pch.com website? I can access the site if I turn off my ISP connection and use a data connection. My ISP is Optimum. Looking for any guidance. Thanks.

So on Thursday 3-28-24 I was on deviantart with a private browser window and I found something really cool but I accidentally closed the window and I can't find it again. I have tried unsuccessfully after hours of attempts for the last day, trudging through a disgusting swamp of tangentially related content, much of it so loathsome and disgusting I wish I could purge my own brain's cache even though the thing I want is pure and wonderful. But because it was a private browsing window its link is not on my own computer. But mozilla keeps SOME sort of data on the browsing activity I did, right? I was hoping I could access it. Maybe just maybe I could find the link I want. I maybe shouldn't have just disabled "studies" just now because it now says it will delete them within 30 days but that also means it was enabled before and maybe I could get to see them before they're deleted and maybe find that thing I wanted to find again. My IPv4: 67.168.208.21 but I don't know if I ever get a different one in a private window or if it changes from time to time, I do know my bank doesn't recognize my computer when I sign in on a private browsing window.

Updated to Firefox 124.0.1 on March 28 (from 123.0.1, which was installed on March 12). This update also installed the Keeper password manager addon.

This is a work PC so it's locked down by IT admin, including extensions on FF. I have no access to about:addons ("Blocked Page - Your organisation has blocked access to this page or web site") and it's impossible to install Xpis.

However, extracting info from extension.json shows that Keeper® Password Manager & Digital Vault Version: 16.8.1 was installed at the time the update to FF 124.0.1 happened. See images.

How can this happen? What can be done to remove Keeper, given that I don't have access to about:addons?

Possibly relevant: I do have some extensions that I had installed before Firefox extension access and install was locked down by Admin (lock down of FF was done remotely through some kind of policy), including LastPass.

I was asked to reset Firefox. It went through it's paces. I have now noticed Dashlane is no longer on my browser. When I tried to sign into Dashlane on line, it won't send me an email to my account. I am dead in the water. What happened to my dashlane account? How do I fix?
