My Firefox Browser on Windows 10 is 88.0.1 Version. Before updating (today to 90.0.2), I should know if the new versions will maintain the upper menu bar as an usual default. Thanks.

I connect to Zoom (or any other site that wants permission to use my mic, my camera, my files) and a permission popup appears - Site xyz wants to use abc, Deny/Allow (buttons) and a ckbox remember this. I click remember and click Allow - nothing, popup still there - click clickclick @$!#! CLICK! nothing. OK, Deny, click - nope, don't remember Allow nope. And here I sit with 10% of my screen with this permission popup that won't go away. FF 88.0.1, FC32, Lenovo laptop

Hi, lately I have been trying to tackle my secondary HDD being spun up for no reason in the background and one thing that keeps popping up is Firefox.exe accessing a bunch of fonts contained in the Solidworks installation on the HDD (which is a secondary drive, while Firefox is installed on the primary SSD).

I really cannot understand why it happens, since I think nobody is supposed to install Solidworks along with Firefox. Of course I don't want this activity to wake up my drive, but also, is it normal? I have to admit I'm kinda worried.

Greetings. How do I set a photo from my pictures library to my FF homepage? I asked this several months ago, figured it out, then lost it again, and can't regain. I'm using v88.0.1, because the update to 90 doesn't work for me, so I assume anything later won't either, if it's built on top of it. Thanks for any relevant responses or suggestions.

I'm so unhappy now I don't know where to begin.

I was having trouble loading a website (lowes.com), continually getting an "access denied" error message. It occurred to me that I'd read somewhere that if you told Firefox to "forget this site," it might solve the "access denied" problem. I didn't remember how to do this, though, so I searched online and found a site that said that adding the "Remove" button to the Toolbar and clicking it would solve the problem. I dutifully added the "Remove" button, then, before clicking it, I triple-checked that the "Forget the last Five minutes" was selected and not any longer period of time. After all, I didn't want to lose everything!

Well, I did.

I had literally hundreds of tabs that I was working on open — they're all gone. All of my history — years worth — is missing. More things may have been deleted, but, to be honest, I'm afraid to check.

What did I do wrong? Or is the "Remove" button buggy?

And while I believe that everything that's missing now is irretrievably lost, if anyone has a hack to recover anything, I would be so, so grateful if you'd let me know.

P.S. I wrote this post up once, hit "Submit," then, after an interminable period of time, the screen went to a blank page. My original post has never appeared. Is there perhaps something wrong with my Firefox (which has been perfectly fine up until now)?

Hey I am trying to find a way to stop all updates and update notifcations in Firefox 88.0? I set update to "Check for updates but let you choose to install them" But still get constant update notifcations ?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I have been a loyal Firefox user for umpteen years – but no more! Without asking, my browser updated to version 89, and immediately, I didn’t like it. It looked washed out, difficult to tell the difference between tabs (I routinely have 30+ tabs open at once), plus it was slower. The biggest “peeve” was when I tried to enter a Google search question in the “Search” box, but Firefox kept jumping up the URL bar. Gawd I hate that! That did it! I decided to revert back to version 88 but you decided you would “punish” me for my decision. I lost all my bookmarks, passwords and preferences. I am a computer support volunteer and I work primarily with senior citizens, however I try to help anyone who needs my help. When I setup a new computer for a client, I usually install Firefox and Chrome, explaining that many people do not like the default browser that comes with Windows. From this point on, I will no longer recommend nor install Firefox. You lost a customer today. Congratulations.

I was really angry that there seems to be no way to actually send an email "TO" Mozilla. Instead, they depend on you volunteers to take the heat for them. If you know of anyway to actually get this information to them, I would appreciate it.

Hello - I've been looking around the Firefox site, and the Internet in general, and so far haven't found out the answer to my question: how do I get Firefox 104 to work on my Linux Mint 18.2 Cinnamon Sonya 32 bit? Specifically what I haven't been able to determine is whether or not I first need to upgrade my Linux, which I suspect. And if so, what's the minimum level of the OS that is required? I may be overlooking the simple answers, but so far I cannot find them. And so far the Firefox website upgrade feature does nothing that I can detect. Thank you for any assistance - Doug.

I am so upset and frustrated after losing all of my bookmarks from my favorite browser that have decided to ask this question here which I'd normally not do and am hoping someone could clarify and guide through restoring it all.

I rebooted my PC last night and upon reboot completion my firefox was updated on its own to v89 or something, the latest as of today's date and so i spent a day not liking the most important thing that I enjoyed on the previous version, which was the ability to reload the open tab by mouse right clicking on it and selecting "Reload tab" (which was the FIRST option at the top of the menu), but for some weird reason the latest update has "New tab" as the first option to select from and no longer "Reload tab" (which is now the 2nd option), which drove me crazy as every time I went to reload my multiple open pages by mouse right clicking them and clicking on the first option at the top of the menu (which used to be reload tab), it was opening 6-7 new tabs instead as the first option at the top now is "new tab", which drove me nuts. This could be a really minor thing for some, but its not for others, its fine that its there, but there should've at least been an option to re-arrange the right click menu and either hide "new tab" as Im not even sure why that was implemented as you can simply close on the "+" signg at the end of your tab to launch a new tab if you need it, from being the first on the list or something along those lines, but I wanted my "Reload tab" be the first option on the list when I mouse right click on any page to perform action with it and thus I decided to revert to prev version Firefox Setup 88.0.1 on my Win 10 pc.

The problem I faced was when I started installing that older version I got this pop up (see attached image)

Without any serious thought I clicked on create new profile as it wouldn't let me install the older version otherwise, it either had an exit or create new option and once I created new profile it all looked brand new as if i've never owed a firefox before and I've used it for ages, my fav browser. Everything is just gone, addons, extension, everything I had organized.

I tried restoring previous profile via about:support, I see 3 on there with the latest 2 seeming to be the latest once and there was one that I think was my old one, but when I clicked on "Launch profile in bew browser" to see if thats the one I had with all my stuff, it kept giving me the same error that you see on the screenshot, so no matter what I did it just wouldnt let me launch my old one.

I searched here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/recover-lost-or-missing-bookmarks#w_determine-if-firefox-has-created-a-new-profile tried a few things to follow, recovering bookmarks did not seem to work, I just see bookmarks from June 23rd which I didnt have any anyway, so it better not override anything I had before, and now im just so discouraged and not sure how to restore everything the way I had that deciding to post for help here.

I would appreciate if someone could clarify this instead of just posting links with tons of info to follow, I can find those links myself, some of them I followed, if someone who knows exactly what happenned and could say whether or not this is still recovarable with clear steps on what to do that would be much appreciated.

I also wonder if I was to restore my windows to previous restore point, would it restore my browser to how it was or it wouldnt?

Pre v89 Windows 10- for some reason, one of my bookmark folders, containing many subfolders and individual bookmarks, has disappeared from my bookmarks toolbar. interestingly, the lost Bookmark folder it does appear on my android phone. Is there some way of finding it on my desktop and restoring it from there, or possibly restoring it from my phone? I would think I would like to try to do this before installing version 89. Hello mozilla support. Firstly I apologize for my english. I love Firefox and using him for many years this time i run on 64bit version number 88.0. I recently discover problem with my saved passwords in Firefox and i mean this broke my or everyone privacy using feature of saving passwords by Firefox. After some time past installation of antivirus program Avast on my desktop PC i was surprised with new installed program on my desktop named Avast Secure Browser. I ran this program first time and without any his any question he show up in front of meon desktop. I discover in his settings that all my passwords saved in Firefox was succesfully decrypted because when i click on the eye icon my password was showed up as he is in firefox. Then i search for a file in my user profile where the Avast Secure Browser has my passwords stored and then check this file on all other user profiles on my PC where nobody not even once run this Avast Secure Browser but all passwords was already prepared for them in that file on all user accounts without any grant or approval by other users during their work on PC. I am only man which administrate this PC and I dont allow Avast Secure Browser stole my passwords from Firefox. My questions is obvious. How secure is for any user which stored their passwords in Firefox before any other system application like antivirus installed on PC with platform windows? How is possible for any app simply decrypt my passwords from logins.json file? For me it is a very bad if this was allowed through maybe some function in Firefox API that can some program use, but i am not an expert on Firefox a that is why i wrote this. If a problem is Avast which use some not good practise in this app, then i immediately send him feedback. But firstly i want answer from your team.

I am really tired of FF notifying me that an update is available. Every few minutes for the entire session. I know when I want or if I want to upgrade. Let me decide. Let me disable the notifications.

Is there a way to turn of update noticications once and for all? Thanks

From the very start, for the last 25+ years, Right Click a link, and hit the letter W to open the link in a new window... Suddenly, with 88 Update, it is now the letter D. (while everything else in Windows is still W)

How do I get it back to [W] (Industry Standard is W)

Why did Mozilla change the letter to D?

I don't mind having to train myself to use D instead of W... I do mind that everything else still uses W, so I have to train myself to only use D in Firefox.

I have removed Bing from search but Google keeps sliding in a Bing search page when I click to open a new window! How do I stop it? I don't use Google for my browser and I don't use Bing search, period!

In the current version (89.0) the shortcuts for the context menu are not working anymore (i.e. right click + L for "Copy Link"). I had to downgrade to 88.0.1 to make it work again. Is there any possibility to get those shortcuts back in the actual version?

I know how to change normal pages css via different tools like Stylus etc. (or via userContent.css). But this does not work for pages created by addons.

I want to set 2 preferences regarding syncing as default preference for all (new) profiles. 1. sync toolbar layout. 2. set my own sync server path.

I already know how to do this via about:config manually per user. I want to have these 2 preferences by default for all users.

On Ubuntu 21.04, I followed these instructions to the letter, but it has no effect, tested on a newly created profile: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/customizing-firefox-using-autoconfig

I created: /usr/lib/firefox/defaults/pref/autoconfig.js And it contains exactly what is in the instructions.

Also created: /usr/lib/firefox/firefox.cfg Looks like: ``` // IMPORTANT: Start your code on the 2nd line defaultpref("services.sync.prefs.sync.browser.uiCustomization.state","true"); defaultpref("identity.sync.tokenserver.uri","https://ffsync.mydomain.tld/token/1.0/sync/1.5"); ```

Then I create a new profile and check via about:config, unfortunately the first preference doesn't exist (note it doesn't exist by default) and the other is not applied, I still see Mozilla sync server path.

How can I set these 2 customisations globally. for all future users (preferably also current users)?

on the bookmark pull down menu, the text size and spacing changed considerably from version 88 to 89. has this been changed since? the text was bigger and less space between entries on the rev 88. I have not updated from rev 88 because of this change which is much harder to read in rev 89.
