With Firefox open, click the Options, that upper right logically opaque set of stacked lines. In Options, choose Home.

On the Home page, Check the unchecked box, Firefox Home Content->Web Search

Update 68.9.0 was doing odd things to my W 7 computer, it even shut off altogether. I did a system restore back to 68.8.0, it was the only program affected, and it is fine now, but will hold off updating until I find out more. There is no new video card driver available for this computer, and I have Hardware Acceleration turned off.

I have a question about updating Firefox on Windows. Is there a command that tells the MozillaMaintenance Service (or Updater.exe) to check for updates and if there is a new update, to install it?

When Firefox is started, Firefox also checks for updates automatically or when the user goes to Help -> About Firefox. And that's exactly what I want to start with just one command. Is that possible?

This has happened twice by now. I have recently enabled 2FA on my account using Aegis, and the next time I logged on, it didn't ask me for a code and it seems as if I never activated it. Set it up again and the same issue pops up. Is anyone having this issue as well?

I am trying to access oracle apps URL from firefox. Getting follwing error.

In order to access this application, you must install the J2SE Plugin version 1.5.0_10. To install this plugin, click here to download the oaj2se.exe executable. Once the download is complete, double-click the oaj2se.exe file to install the plugin. You will be prompted to restart your browser when the installation is complete.

I have installed j2se but still getting the same issue. Please help me on resolving the issue.

In linux Centos7 I found that all my bookmarks disapeared. In about:support if I select verify integrity I get this-

> Task: checkIntegrity - Unable to check places.sqlite integrity: Error: Error(s) encountered during statement execution: database disk image is malformed > Task: invalidateCaches - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: checkCoherence - The task queue was cleared by an error in another task. > Task: expire

How can it be fixed? Thanks for any help!

Receive the following error random times while using Firefox:

"Firefox has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

I have tried the following: Refresh Re-load of current and previous versions Safe mode operations(still happened) -the recommendations if it still happened in safe mode

I have locked xpinstall.enabled to false.

I wonder if this will prevent extension updates?

I hope not, because if it does, it will result in old extension versions which might have security issues.

Many users lock this property to avoid inexperienced users installing extensions.

In the example at enabled it seems that it blocks the function startSoftwareUpdate. And it's plain to see, that the function contains the word "update".

Is there a way to adjust the url bar's font size? I have found ways to adjust the font on just about everything in Firefox, except for the url bar. I'm using Firefox v68. Thanks for any help!

I've assigned user-defined shortcuts to Firefox on my Mac by adding items to:

    System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts -> + icon. 

This method works fine in other applications. However, within Firefox these only work after I've clicked on the menu bar and displayed the item with the shortcut.

For example, I have a shortcut to show the Bookmarks Toolbar defined as "View->Toolbars->Bookmarks Toolbar." In Firefox, under View menu I see the item "Bookmarks Toolbar" with the appropriate shortcut key shown next to it. BUT whenever I open a new window I have to show that menu item again before the shortcut key actually works.

Is this a bug?

I've tried different shortcuts, turning on/off private browsing, defining shortcuts under "All Applications" as well as "Firefox.app"

Hi everyone, I recently installed Firefox in a new Mac, I've been using Firefox in my old MacBook Pro without a problem, but in the new one, it keeps showing the installation "disk" and when I try to eject it it says it's busy... do you know what I should do to install it definitively? Please see attached image. Whenever I try to install an extension on firefox quantum 68.2.0 ESR it simply shows a greyed out button I cannot press. The only article I can find on this offers the solution that it can be fixed using another plugin (which I can't install for the same reason...)

When you open a new tab a "snippet" is shown at the bottom of the page. According to the preferences this is for "Updates from Mozilla and Firefox".

Now I'm starting to see messages about how I can fight racism and how I should be proud of who I am.

Is there a way to limit the messages to things that are actually related to Firefox? I want to see important technical updates. I see enough political statements everywhere else.

I get this error message:

The proxy server is refusing connections

Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections.

   Check the proxy settings to make sure that they are correct.
   Contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working.

What do I have to do to fix this?

In order to resume a download, there are currently far too many steps required to make it very user-friendly, as seen [here].

There should be a better, integrated way to reliably resume downloads, such as having the reload button next to the file automatically resume the download instead of starting it over.

This is especially important for very large files such as ISO's and archives.
