I like to keep my browser windows slightly smaller than my desktop. I usually leave about a half inch or so free on each side. This way, I still have easy access to any desktop shortcut that is alone the top/bottom, or left right of the screen, without having to minimize my browser windows completely to see the entire desktop. But for some reason, for the last several Firefox versions, it will always resize its height to take up the entire height of the desktop. The width stays the same, the way I want it. But the height is always from the top of the screen all the way down to the task bar. I don't know if it happens every single time I close out of Firefox and reopen, but I know my manual resizing never lasts long. what is happening here?

Chrome has stopped working. I cannot tell if it is Chrome, Ubuntu MATE 22.04, or a virus. I want to switch to Firefox, but cannot import my Chrome bookmarks. I tried using Chrome to export my bookmarks and then using Firefox to import them. Did not work. I tried using Firefox to import from other browsers. It could not find Chrome.

Yahoo websites blocked from within the US. I get the following message: "When trying to access my yahoo mail account from within the US I get the following message: Yahoo’s suite of services will no longer be accessible from mainland China." Any thoughts on what is happening and how to correct it? I'm in the US using the Mozilla VPN with a US server location

My tabs keep disappearing and I have to restart manually. I used to go to the 3 bar menu and select Restore previous session but now it doesn't appear in the menu.

Please tell me what privacy preference this message refers to, and what I can do to get rid of it. Can I enter "Wired magazine" into some list somewhere of people that send me email who I believe are not sending me poisoned links, or should I simply use Chrome, or Bing, or whatever to read my email? Alternatively, could you please change your message or otherwise tell me what privacy setting I need to change?

I am transferring to a new laptop and do not remember my Firefox password but I have access to my profile . I do not want to lose all my history , bookmarks and saved password. Any ideas ? Thanks for your help

Whenever I make a bookmark, it automatically puts it in the Bookmark Toolbar, but I want it to default to the Bookmark Menu. I can't find any way to do that and can't find any good information about it. One site said I needed an ad-on, but I shouldn't need that for something so simple that used to work fine on my old computer with Firefox. I can't find any settings for this at all.

Please help me fix this.

Approx a month ago my video play has been distorted. Sort of like a color negative instead of a normal positive image. Happens when I try to play almost any video, like on YouTube.com My Chrome browser works fine, does not have this problem. When I play a recorded video that is stored on my PC it plays fine. Using yahoo search i am unable to open a particular page of the gofan.co website. In the past I was able to open this page which is the page where tickets are ordered. Other gofan website pages will open. I can open this page with Microsoft edge..and....I can open it using the New private window option. Gofan support has offered several solutions including clearing cache...none have succeeded.

Most of my bookmarks gone, in the sense, that they DON'T lead to the place listed, but to another place. For example, the link says "Health Hub", but logo is for Wells Fargo and the link is for that. Another one states, Austin Telco Federal Credit Union, and the link is to my home webmail.

How do I restore my bookmarks back? I've been adding the correct ones. But I don't see why I need to add them back. How can I get my bookmarks that I've had for years BACK?

on win11 FF keeps resetting my left window adjustment , even though i keep changing it as far left as i can, it keeps changing it causing my bookmarks to display on the left side, i want them on the right. when i reset FF all the way to the left the (toolbar) bookmarks show on the left the way i want, but as soon as i close & reopen FF, it repositions the window again, then the bookmarks pop up on the right, not the left as i set it.

I've seen in many places that cmd+` should allow me to switch between windows within an app on Mac. For me, it only works in Safari and other native Mac apps. It does not work in Firefox. I have the latest Mac OS and the latest version of Firefox. Is there a solution to this? I would LOVE for this shortcut to work, since I'm also a Windows user and it's the closest thing to the Windows window-switching shortcut.

As others in the community have reported, Firefox--and ONLY Firefox--is now unable to access the Synchrony Bank account management site (https://www.synchrony.com/accounts/). I have two Synchrony credit cards and use this site multiple times per week; but about two weeks ago, attempts to login using Firefox began to fail, returning a "We're having temporary problems, try again later" error message. Synchrony tech support says that this problem is unique to Firefox--a fact that has also been reported by the community. I've used Firefox for many years and would hate to have to switch to another browser, but this is a serious inconvenience. It would be nice if you would address this problem promptly. Otherwise, I'm gone. Thanks.

I have been using Startpage as my search engine forever. Startpage has a new option to delete cookies when you x out of a tab. It has a different url than the regular Startpage. I tried to get Firefox to accept it. Two thousand variations, iterations later, and I still couldn't. Now when I open Firefox it says, startpage.com/ not found in a big red ribbon at the top of the page. Firefox won't let me go back to the old one either. There are other things but I'll start with this.

I wasn't able to find any RSS feeds to subscribe to in the known vulnerabilities sections, nor in the Mozilla Foundation security advisories pages. I'd like to subscribe in Thunderbird, if possible to them.

Is there a newsletter or other way to keep up-to-date with these advisories?

Using Outlook Calendar, any day with more than 1 event simply shows as 3 dots. You have to open that day to see the events. Not this way with Edge nor Chrome. Am I missing a setting?
