No matter what I do FF always opens to the "Success!" screen and wants me to choose what tabs to restore. I have done troubleshooting mode, clean mode, refresh and complete uninstall and reinstall. Nothing works.

Saved themes in Firefox color not visible in add-ons manager. Does not fix itself in safe mode. One of the saved themes is a default preset I liked, the other is a preset I made myself, using all options except advanced colors.

Firefox starts but when I type into the search box nothing happens. My RoboForm link does not work and neither do the bookmarks. I have had to resort to using Edge to get onto the internet. Jim Klein

This is a very bizarre problem. Basically I can't install any Firefox addon neither on my desktop OR may laptop. I noticed this issue just couple of days ago. When I try to install any addon normally, from a link, it tells me that the addon can't be installed because the file is corrupt. Tried several addons, all same problem. On my desktop AND on my laptop. On my desktop I'm running ver. 103, but on my laptop I still had ver. 102.1, so there is no Firefox update issue. When I try to install addon from xpi file, it tells me that I have no permission to open that file and that's it. I tried to take ownership of that file but it didn't solve the issue I tried to disable my AV program, but it didn't do anything. On my laptop, I tried to refresh FF, no help. I tried to start FF in safe mode, same problem. I created new profile, same issue. Eventually, I totally uninstalled FF, removing program itself, removing Appdata folder and even registry entry. Installed fresh copy of FF, same problem exists. Then, I noticed one thing. When I tried to sync fresh FF installation on my laptop, it synced everything, EXCEPT for addons. So, something is preventing me doing anything regarding addons. Themes install just fine. I've struggling with this problem since yesterday and at this point I totally ran out of any fresh ideas how to solve this issue, thus posting here. I'll appreciate any fresh idea as what to do next. I have recently updated to Firefox 100. I am now getting this message on a page "You are using an outdated browser. Please upgrade your browser." I have confirmed I am up to date.

The "update you browser" has a link to "whatbrowser.org", which I believe is run by that horrid business, Google.

Has anyone struck this problem? Is there a solution?

I have closed Firefox & re-opened, I have rebooted the computer. No change.

On certain websites I notices I have 'unknown errors' when trying to log in.

Usually this is remedied by either using Chrome or clearing cookies and the cache.

Both of there are inconvenient and result in a great deal of wasted time.

The usual response by these websites is "get Mozilla to fix this".

I'm getting sick of this.

I don't want to switch to Chrome but I will have to if this persists.

i've been a loyal fan for over 20 years but i just can't comprehend why would ignoring dns settings be a good idea .. i can't even imagine a hypothetical situation when this makes sense.

and now i have to either tolerate edge, chrome or just forget internet which is really hard to do when you work in IT ...

So I downloaded Firefox and logged in expecting my bookmarks to carry over after I "sync'd" it, however the did not. So I went to my old pc and did the export bookmarks thing and imported it to the new pc.

Now.. I have all my bookmarks and everything appears great. Except whenever I open a link from say my work it opens a Mozilla window that doesn't have my bookmarks. When I try to combine the windows It doesn't let me. I am also scared of losing access to the Mozilla with my bookmarks as I work from home using those. (the desktop shortcut to Mozilla opens the one without all my work)

In the attached screenshot things to note, the bookmark bar available on left isn't there on the right. Additionally in the taskbar (bottom) it shows Mozilla in two distinctly separate icons. When two Mozilla windows are open, they share the same icon on the taskbar, these do not, which leads me to believe I have two incompatible versions existing next to each other.

Since about 2 weeks ago many AOL attachments are not opening (pdf.s are but others eg Word not). I have read thru' previous messages on this (in 2021) but turning off enhanced tracking has not fixed it. My attachments open in Edge and Chrome. Like others I would like to stay with Firefox but cannot live with this problem. Help please

Hello! My Firefox version is 91.11.0esr Several months ago Firefox starts behave this way. It's much more convenient when speaker button always appears on tab. It's absolutely incomprehensible why developers did it with Firefox. Who likes to waste time searching for noisy tab. I wish it work like before.

For example, look at how the same page looks in Firefox 106.0.2 (64 bits) and Yandex Browser (22.9.4.866).

I tried changing the user agent, it didn't help. I think the problem is in the Java engine.

As from v100.0, Firefox allows users to "set their preferred color schemes for websites".

Ironically, this does not addresses complaints from users, including me, who wish for a consistent Light theme all across Firefox.

Even if "Web site appearance" is set as Light, the following still remain dark:

• Background of main drop-down menu (Containing "Sync and save data", "New tab", "Print", "Settings", etc)
• Background of right-click menu (Containing the refresh icon, "Save page as", "View page source", etc)
• Background of "Please enter primary password" menu
• Background of auto-filled user name and password menus
• Background of elements in a bookmark folder
• Background of Downloads menu
• Background of Print menu
• Background of "Clear all history" menu
• Background of "Find on this page" menu
• Background of "You are about to close X tabs" warning menu
• Colour of title bar for "About Mozilla Firefox" window, when the window is not currently active

Being able to set "browser.theme.toolbar-theme" permanently as 2 would fix all of the above, but users are still (Note: Since v96.0, when this complaint was raised) prevented from doing so. Why?

I try to install Firefox on a HP Z1 G8 desktop under Windows 11 Pro. The first time I get a warning that a .dll is not available or so (I dont know what this warning is precisely, becaus it pops up for 2 seconds only ) , and firefox is not well installed, reinstalling goes without warning, but still Firefox starts and then stay dead, no sites, no settings. I know the security in this computer is very thight, but other apps install without problem and functions.

Why Firefox cant be installed where other apps can ??????

Cannot access banking website - get page that is all type-written down the left side, credit card site says I need to up date my browser, computer says it is up to date; downloaded and reinstalled firefox - no change i don't know what to do next
