I'm helping my elderly neighbour. She sought help because she can no longer login to her online banking account in Firefox. The problem is confined to Firefox. If she uses Edge, she logs in without any problems.

She is using Windows 10 pro 64-bit.

I have an account with the same bank and when I tried to login to my account I received the same error.

I attempted to uninstall Firefox and was prompted to Refresh Firefox instead; this I did and it took some 15 minutes to complete the refresh process. But still the problem persisted.

I then uninstalled Firefox; downloaded the Firefox install package and installed it. This also started a Refresh process which this time only too about 10 seconds. However, still the failure to login to the bank account persisted.

The bank error code is CA_500.IDP_402 but this does not provide any clues to the cause of the problem.

Of course, she could just switch to using Edge but she is familiar with Firefox and would rather not chnage browsers.

Are there any suggestions to investigate and resolve this issue?

I just installed FF 99.0.1 on a new Windows 10 H1N2 install on my portable. If I have Restore last Session enabled, FF will correctly restore all tabs, except pinned ones. They no longer show up as pinned or regular tabs.

On other machines I have, same windows version, same FF version, pinned tabs survive restart as pinned tabs on the left side of all tabs.

I've looked high and low in options for anything that modifies pinned tabs behavior, and read various help content and such, but no clue. The only thing I think of is that on my portable this is a new system install, and on the other machines there have been many updates of OS and FF over the years.

Does this ring any bell with anyone?

Thanks.

Javascript appears not to be working in my FF -- V 98.0.2 (32-bit). Running on Win-7 (last updates before support ended!!) In particular, the comments for Washington Post articles will not display [first detected problem]. After research, no Javascript will output. FF shows enabled, and it remains enabled. It just doesn't seem to work. The Chrome browser on the same Dell laptop works correctly and displays comments. But I prefer FF to Chrome. The fact that Chrome works suggests to me that the issue is with FF. I'm suspecting that version 98 isn't compatible with Win-7...

The problem was not occurring a year ago. Covid restricted my travel and thus use of the laptop. When I refreshed the laptop with the latest antivirus [Norton] and FF, it no longer worked., I don't remember what version of FF I was using back when it worked.. I know Windows hasn't changed, and I ran without Norton or plugins and the problem persisted...

Any suggestions? Any way to restore an old -- over 1 year -- version of FF so I can try that?

PS:: I'm running FF 99.0.1 (64-bit) on a Dell desktop right next to me and the W-7 laptop at the moment. I works fine. No issue with jS or any other FF function.

I need handoff enabled on macOS and iOS in order to copy and paste items from my Mac to iPad using Universal Control (I checked by seeing the cross device clipboard not working when either is turned off). I want handoff disabled in Firefox only, shouldn't there be a way to disable it within Firefox? Seeing Firefox tabs randomly automatically show up in Safari on my iPad is annoying and spam.

Error code: SSL_ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED_ALERT Also I get it for Care2 petition site (Hope that's right name). It could be that I need to uodate Kaspersky but as I am about to drop Kaspersky it's not the best time. I want to make sure that whatever I choose is compatable with Malwarebytes ( theone that runs all the time) Sometimes running two together causes problems. I also wonder if I have been compromised insome way on my computer. Thank you so much for any help you can give me. ALso 3 (broadband) won't let me access the change website because it says I have the filter on that stops uner 18s viewing. This is rubbish. It will take at least two days to go through and theimpportant issues in the UK are happening now

Hi, I don't know exactly what this issue is, but I've attached a screenshot of my issue and I'll try to describe it as best I can. Last night, I was browsing a local news website (Fox 10 Phoenix) and had multiple tabs open from that site and others. When I switched to any of the Fox 10 tabs, a little box would pop-up in the upper-left hand corner and it contained 4 lines of my saved autofill entry data (2 email addresses, phone number, and a username). I had never visited this particular site before, and I didn't notice any boxes that Firefox would've tried to prompt me with autofill.

This is the first and only time I've ever noticed this behavior. It only appeared on the Fox 10 tabs and it happened on all 3 tabs. I could select one of the entries in the box and that also made it disappear, but I couldn't find where it was trying to autofill. Otherwise, it remained on the screen until I would scroll and then it disappeared and would not reappear if I returned to the original position. It did reappear if I changed tabs and came back. It was also the same 4 autofill entries each time.

Is this a Firefox bug or anything else I should be concerned about?

Thanks

Hello,

I'm trying to restore my bookmarks from a .json backup file, but when I restore from it, all the bookmarks go into the Other Bookmarks folder. All the other folders are imported but are empty. I've tried the automatic backups and the same thing happens.

Obviously I don't want to have to drag and drop 2000 bookmarks back into their folders... how can I fix this?

Thanks, Barnaby

Updated to 98.0.2 last night or this morning, and now videos that are attached to or included in emails do NOT open/do not play. They worked fine before. Happening in both gmail and Yahoo! mail (sbcglobal.net). [I don't use Chrome nor Edge] I checked the download file; nada. Message from FF is "failed" Other MP4, WAV files etc. open an play fine - but Not if they are in an email

UPDATE 3/27/22 1913HRS. Just returned from my other residence; my wife's PC is still using 98.0 or 98.0.1 and it played the videos just fine. Only difference between our PC's is her's uses an 990x mobo and a GTX 960/4GB video card.

UPDATE 3/28/22 1047a.m. pst. Cannot download anything using Firefox 98.0.2. Just tried to download a short clip; Failed. Video drivers from NV website; Failed. A couple other things earlier but don't remember what nor where they were. Edge downloaded the video drivers just fine (again, had to dl to disc enable to use them.) jonzn4SUSE - did you get my email and have you had any luck ( or the time to do it) finding the problem/solution???

3/30/22, I just did a refresh of Firefox, it did not correct the problem. IS there any "easy way" to roll-back to version 98.0.1 4/10/22: I found the solution on my own after several hours of searching. Open "about:config", click "Accept the risk and continue" button; at the top click/select "show all". Find highlighted "browser.download.improvements_to_download_panel". Change setting to false'bold text' Thank you to the web site Techdows; solution was published on 3/4/2022. https://techdows.com/2022/01/firefox-97-download-flow-changes.html

Hello there, I somehow recently managed to delete my account by accident and I'm wondering whether it's possible to restore the sync data left behind, I have access to the recovery keys if required and can attempt to provide any information requested about the account. Not sure if it is even possible to restore the data using this method but it's worth a try at least. Appreciative of any assistance with this problem, thanks again :).

Of necessity I've changed my email address. My earlier, saved, Pocket articles remain accessible if I enter the name of my previous email address & password but, as the address is now not sustained, I cannot add to Pocket. I wish to be able to add new articles to Pocket using my new email address, but not lose those articles already saved. I see that I can create a secondary account, but have not been able to establish whether this 'wipes' Pocket articles saved previously. Your help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Let me start with two points: (a) this is the first time that I've used this site, so if I do anything wrong please just tell me and I won't do it again, and, (b) I'm no technician (I deliberately use Firefox because I believe in Mozilla's business principles, not because I think Firefox is technically superior to other browsers - although I'm quite prepared to believe that it is) but I can follow instructions. OK, so having said that …

I am using the latest version of Firefox [98.0.2 (64-bit)] on a bog standard Dell laptop under Windows 10 [Edition Windows 10 Home, Version 21H2, OS build 19044.1620, Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4170.0].

I have recently opened an HSBC bank account. If I try to access their UK online banking site (https://www.hsbc.co.uk/) using Firefox (which I should very much prefer to do than with any other browser), it is missing the most important feature of 'Chat' (the only sensible way of talking to HSBC without having to endure a half-hour wait). However, if I access it using any other browser (e.g., Microsoft Edge) the 'Chat' facility is available in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. Please note that with Firefox I am using a 'container' (called HSBC) - I don't think that Edge has similar facilities.

Can anybody please tell me whether I might have some setting or other (e.g., say something to do with 'pop-ups' which I think that the HSBC's 'Chat' facility uses) set incorrectly?

Thank you and best regards

John
