Under import/backup --> restore I can't remove the files. It used to let you do it now its not allowed. I want them gone and to synch with I currently have. It would also be nice to add a feature to edit backup folders and stored files.

Hi, the backup files listed on the Restore menu are complete snapshots of your bookmarks for that date, and not limited to the new ones added on those dates. Do you want to physically delete the full backups from disk?

If you want to view/delete your current bookmarks added during a certain period, here are the steps for that:

Sorting Bookmarks by Date Added

First, make sure you have the Added column in your Library window (called up by Manage Bookmarks). To add a new column to the display, right-click any existing column heading and check the column on the little drop-down list.

Next, if you aren't sure which folder the bookmarks are in you can do a general search in the upper right corner (entering http will match most bookmark URLs).

Then click the Added column heading to sort by that column. This should group together the bookmarks added on a particular date so you can review and delete the ones you don't want.

Does that work on your Firefox?

No because I do not have an "Added" column on the Library window called up by "Manage Bookmarks." YES I would like to "Physically delete (permanently get rid of) "the full backups from the disc." I have yet to see a "delete" tab anywhere in this version of Firefox (92.0). I would gladly revert to an earlier version if it eliminated the current "restore bookmarks" list. How do I do it?

I still have no bookmarks. I have restarted the computer a number of times. I also renamed the places.sqlite adding a 1 after places as it said in other directions. I have also refreshed.

Yesterday, I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled after receipt of your response. It said all cookies, history, bookmarks etc transferred successfully. However, I keep getting the message “ and Bookmarks and history systems will not be functional because one of Firefox’s file is in use by another application. Some security software can cause the problem. I use McAfee, I’ve always used it. I have not changed it.

I did not do anything with favicon file as I don’t know what to do, I understand you can delete that. If there is a list of more than one, then what do I do.

As I indicated, I an NOT a technical person.

My Firefox has just been updated to 91.3.Oesr. Previously the lock symbol in the URL could be dragged to the desktop to save the URL as a bookmark. This update doesn't allow me to do that. Please advise.

Hi all, Once and a while, suddenly, bookmarks can´t be saved any longer. So I restart Firefox and all is ok again. This happens perhaps twice a month. - Existing Bookmarks can be opened, but can´t be moved in the structure. - This issue exists since many Firefox versions. - The *.sqlite files are not write protected. - All Add Ons are switched off.

I have to close for each new start of Firefox all windows and so I am loosing the workflow :-(. Does anybody know about this issue? Many thanks Achim

I just got a MISERABLE updated Firefox that increased the spacing in my bookmarks menu so it is essentially UNUSABLE with double or triple spacing requiring scrolling till one's arm falls off! Why is it us poor peons out here who just want to use our computers and the internet, and the Firefox they've used FOR YEARS, have to be subject to arbitrary UNNECESSARY changes made by some "developer", possible trying to justify his/her existence and/or is stir crazy in lockdown? win10 bookmarks on the right. FIX IT! And stop screwing up WHAT WAS WORKABLE! I'm not a "nerd" able to just manipulate stuff...I want MY FIREFOX BACK!

Just updated to version 92.0. Now all my bookmarks have an incredible amount of vertical spacing between them. This results in unwanted mouse movements and scrolling. Is there a preference setting where this can be fixed?

I've been using FVD Speed Dial Addon, plus its Everhelper Sync, to manage my Bookmarks: apparently, they're no longer supported by Firefox (last Update by Nimbus 2 years ago)! FVD was really convenient for Syncing & Saving my Bookmarks: what do you suggest I do, now? I don't want to lose all my Bookmarks!

I delete this bookmark in the browser, but after ending and newstart it#s always in the bookmark-line.

Hi, I am asking for your help in addition to your patience as I am not a tech savvy person AT ALL.

That being said, Firefox installed a new version of the browser last night as it has done many times over the years I have used their browser. Nothing looked different until I wanted to bookmark a website.

When I click on bookmarks, it use to have the option which said (I think) "bookmark this page" which is how I have always saved pages. That option is no longer there, it is gone. I do not make changes on this computer on my own. I do not know what I'm doing and have no one to help so if I were to mess something up, I'm in trouble.

I did read through posts before asking for help, went to the help section Firefox has. I went to the page which says Troubleshoot & diagnose Firefox problems. As I went through each step, nothing changed so I reinstalled Firefox. Obviously it did not change the issue I am having.

I am very careful when I get online; I don't click on links, pop up ads, etc. ever! Is there anyone who can help as I do not know what to do, and again, have no one I can ask or go to for help. I am attaching a screenshot which gives the info on the version of FF I have. I thank you all for your time and am keeping my fingers crossed this is a simple fix!

I am using mozilla more then 10 years.

Today all my bookmarks disappeared. I have no chance to install them again. Neither with the star nor with the menue. I followed all recommendations of firefox to repair it. The bookmark bar is still there. But with no content.

Does anyone has an idea?

I go to show all bookmarks and search for a bookmark I know I saved before. I find it. The problem is it does not tell me what folder I saved that bookmark in. I have dozens of folders and hundreds of bookmarks. How do I tell where that particular bookmark is stored at?

Hi. I tried to import my bookmarks from Google to Firefox (on a Mac) as per the instructions but no joy. I followed the process and at the end it says that the process was successful, but when I look in the Manage Bookmarks area (and everywhere else), the bookmarks are not there. Help please.

I recently upgraded to Monterey, which may be relevant, and can no longer open all bookmarks in a folder by right clicking. This is inconvenient. Any suggestions gratefully received.

All my bookmarks and passwords just vanished last night. No update installed, no new programs. I was watching a film from a legal subscription service and firefox crashed and when it restarted, they were gone. I have tried re importing them to no avail. I have uninstalled and reinstalled firefox and no difference. Chrome (which i had never used) imported the bookmarks and passwords I can't see from firefox so they are still there somewhere but firefox just shows a "cannot access bookmarks" warning at the top of the screen.

I need idiot proof instructions that actually work as I have always used firefox and can't get used to a new browser but need my tabs and bookmarks and passwords back.
