Firefox on mac osx with automatic updates for OS and Firefox up to date for over a year recently started producing failed downloads (probably between 9-13 and 9-14, around the time of the last Firefox update). What has been tried to fix this: everthing from the Mozilla help pages “What to do if you can't download or save files” asserted to be based on information from “Unable to save or download files (mozillaZine KB)” with the exception of dealing with the "plist" file since that could not be found in this OS installation. If anything has changed through these efforts, it has been to cause the failure to be more severe. Before attempting any fixes, the downloads usually produced a zero-byte file of the expected name and an apparently full-length download file with the expected name and a ".part" extension (or an abbreviated download file with a jumbled alphanumeric name and ".part" extension). After all the fixes were attempted, with the additional trial of patching the profile from TimeMachine back-ups well before the initiation of the problems, and then a final effort of a complete Firefox re-install (freshly downloaded via the separate account on the computer then Firefox removed prior to a fresh install), downloads now fail for that one problem account producing only the zero-byte file of the expected name and no ".part" files yet seen again. Created new profiles in Firefox under the same computer account inherit the same download problems (tried twice).

FYI: in addition to the troubleshooting information below, the computer account with the Firefox problems reports another four plug-ins (Blue Jeans, RBlue Jeans and "install" for both). As these do not show up on this computer account where the Firefox browser has no download issues, this may matter. But since the download issues were independent of Safe Mode operation for Firefox, presumably the plug-in differences would not matter.

It says I have not ok'd a certificate called "digiCert SHA 2 High Assurance Server CA" I can't find this in my list it said to check in the troubleshooting guide. How do I tell the computer this is OK?

Last few releases of FF have been very cumbersome on my MacBook Pro with constant crashes and now I am having issues logging into websites especially financial ones such as Capital One or Suntrust.

Capital One gives a 400 bad request and SunTrust simply just reverts to the home page after trying to login from it. This has been an ongoing problem and I know about the solution of corrupt cookies or cache but for it to happen over and over there is more at play that is causing this because when I switch to Google Chrome there is no issue and the sites are working fine.

I also can't access .aspx pages it just renders blank and I have to again use Chrome. FF used to be my go to browser but now it just became a headache that consistently has issues.

Trying to connect to internet using t mobile hotspot. Windows 7 Firefox browser I can get to a website using the ip address however nothing using www.msn.com or anything. In the connect to the internet window in Options network I have no idea what to put in there I tried auto nothing works

I start off by going to Squarespace.com and then go to the login button. I enter in my e-mail address and password and it takes me right back to the login screen. However, the address is clearly loaded to my site with the /config bit at the end of the address loaded.

Also worthy of note...when I enter in the wrong password it will happily tell me the PW is incorrect.

Any ideas or suggestions? I just switched from Chrome after 3 repeated crashes this AM and this is equally frustrating.

I always use my laptop computer at my home, However on the rare occasion I take it somewhere I am never able to view web content anywhere else i.e. a friends house. I will always get a message about firewall /proxy setting to allow web content. please help

My firefox browser is updated and recently won't allow me to connect to dell.com. I've done everything and changed nothing to solve.

I have completed the activation process twice now, once with Comcast on the line. What happens is many of my bookmarks refuse to load, and I get the message "firefox has prevented from redirect.." When I press "allow", I am taken back to the Comcast activation site.

If I do a search for the bookmark - say "Firefox", and the search results come up - when I click on the link for "Firefox" I am taken back to the "Firefox has prevented ..." message, and "allow" takes me to the Comcast activation site.

Trying the same process with internet explorer works fine, except I do not have the bookmarks in internet explorer, and wish to continue to use Firefox, but at present it is all but unuseable.

We have Firefox 30 on one of our servers and it will not let us access any of our internal sites. It gives a message:

401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials.

It doesn't even prompt for credentails. Other browsers work fine. I tried a solution from a previous post but it didn't work: "you can try to enter about:config into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named network.negotiate-auth.allow-insecure-ntlm-v1. double-click it and change its value to true."

What else could be causing this issue?

I just downloaded it and after clicking on the icon to open it shows like it's charging and then it just stops without any message ! I need it urgently to run an exam !

Every time I try to sign in it will not take username and password so I have to change it and then I forget what I changed it to.

Also why can't I watch videos on facebook I can with Internet Explorer Windows 7

Since last night, I cannot get into Hotmail with any regularity. Sometimes I get in, and when I check I can see the trusted certificate details. Other times I get the warning that Hotmail is NOT a trusted site and the certificate shows this info also. This can happen all in one session of using the computer. Sometimes I am logged into Hotmail okay, but when I try to send an email, I can't. Other times I CAN send. I am using Firefox but this happens also on Explorer. My date and time are correct. I have run my virus checker; all is okay there. I can access Hotmail on my phone with no problems. I am using Windows 8.1. Hotmail has worked for months on this Toshiba computer and for years on other computers. I trust it but don't even get an option to allow it when i get the "untrusted" notice.

We are experiencing an issue with random intermittent Mozilla Proxy Authentication prompts. We are running Mozilla firefox in a Windows domain and using a clearswift proxy server. I've tried a large number of configuration changes with Firefox but still get these annoying prompts. This obviously looks bad to our user base. We do not suffer the same issues with IE11 or Google Chrome.

Please can anyone help before we look to remove this software and go for an alternative browser?

On my corporate intranet, there are a couple of internal systems with web interfaces that generate the sec_error_reused_issuer_and_serial error. Every resource on mozilla.org and other sites that I have found lists only two options: 1. get the admin of the site to fix the problem, or 2. temporarily add an exception

Nowhere have I been able to find information regarding a permanent exception. I understand that ideally, for a public website, the long term fix will be for the website admin to fix the problem, however there must be a way to permanently add an exception in Firefox to completely ignore this error message. I already tried deleting the "cert8.db" file and this has not resolved the problem. I am not interested in any temporary exceptions or temporary resolutions; I am specifically asking how to permanently ignore this error message.

running win 7, firefox upgraded this morning and no unable to access internet. internet explorer connects fine. I tried fix - running Norton 360 - removed firefox from allowed programs and added back in - rebooted system, still unable to connect.

When I was opening new links from Google search result pages, sometimes I got the 'Server Not Found' pages. I had to refresh two times like that to get the pages loaded. I searched for solutions online and I had tried to turn off antivirus, disable DNS prefetching, uncheck "Tell web sites I do not want to be tracked", disable IPv6 in Firefox, restart with add-ons disabled but they all failed. I found that there is no problem using Google DNS. Help thanks.

I was working in my online class tonight and decided to take a break. I logged out for 10 minutes and when I tried to log back in I keep getting a message that Firefox has "blocked" the site for security reasons. I have used Firefox to access my online classes for the past seven years and now all of a sudden the school's website is a "security risk"! If this problem is not resolved quickly, I have no alternative but to remove Firefox and use another browser.

I can't login to my school website anymore since I have updated my firefox to 34.0.5. I have deleted the cert8.db, and still having the same issue. Please Help! I have used Firefox since it was first introduced. I prefer it to MS Explorer. However the new Firefox, 33.1 and 34 are not compatible with my school Blackboard account, so I had to delete Firefox and use Explorer. I would prefer to use Firefox. Is an earlier version (Prior to 33.1) still available?
