Hello, I have been using Firefox for years without problems, but recently this came about out of the blue: for every action typed into the window, be it a search string or URL, or even about:config, Firefox opens a new window.

I didn't tweak any configuration options, it's not any of the extensions (removed those) nor a theme (using default). Also, this https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1293906 was not useful.

This is an extremely annoying issue. Please help.

When I have a handful of tabs open, they start scrolling off-screen, despite the fact that there is plenty of room on the tab bar. In fact, tabs never seem to populate the right 50% of the tab bar. I have found plenty of advice about how to set minimum and maximum sizes for the tabs themselves, but that is not my problem. I want to be able to see all of my tabs when there is plenty of room to show them. Any way to solve this?

It doesn't make sense. Maybe people want a new tab to open up to something besides a blank page or the Firefox home page. Other browser's give the user more freedom when it comes to this. I recently switched over to Firefox and would like to stay, but if this something that can't be fixed I might have to find a new browser again.

I've installed firefox on my new mac to match my desktop pc a little better. It works smoothly on desktop, but on this mac it seems to be nothing but trouble. Every time I reset my macbook I have to login to firefox manually, and then I'm faced with all my top sites missing. It's been mitigated slightly by adding bookmarks to my highlights page, but I'd still like to not login every time I reset. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, Opened firefox today on my desktop pc and the open tabs at the top of FF just stroll to the right/end of my tabs as soon as i put the mouse over them to select one.

try use left arrow or scroll wheel to go to the left and just immediately mouse over to click a particular tab and before can immediately scrolls back to the right/end.

also have noticed when at the right of my open tabs mouse over any tab and whereas before would get the pop up showing the title of the page now just flashs the title up for a fraction of a second not even enought time to read it.

plus now have tried to select from the drop down box in this ask your question dialog box but when click on down arrow to select the appropiate section just flases up the options for a fraction of a section giving no time to select one. Have found only way to select is to use the arrow keys on my keyboard

thanks ian

When I start to move a tab to another location, a small box attached to the bottom of the tab appears with the same info that's on the tab. If I move the tab to a different location, many of my tabs disappear and I have to find them in bookmarks to put them back. Is there any way to remove that little box attached to the bottom of the tab?

I often want to keep a tab open and go back to the search. It used to be that clicking on a search result opened a new tab,but now it replaces the search with that link so that I have to back out of it to get to the search and use history to see where I have been. This is a dealbreaker for me. There does not appear to be any way of restoring this behavior, even in about:config. Help

In the past, when I wanted to go to a tab I'd opened previously, I'd type a keyword in the awesome box in the taskbar. A drop-down box with possibilities appears. I'd get 10 search results, 5 new, some historic and one or 2 the ones I might be wanting to switch to. For these last ones, there'd be a grey icon on the left, so that I'd know which to click on. With FF75, the format has changed. For existing tabs, there is no icon, but the option 'switch to tab' is indicated to the right of the tab address. That is OK for a short tab address, but when it is long, like the one for this page, viz: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/new/desktop/tabs/form?search=In+FF+75%2C+why+doesn%27t+awsum+box+have+icon+to+identify+tabs+already+open%3F&step=aaq-question the option 'switch to tab' is way to the right and can't be seen as the drop-down box is fixed, can't be dragged wider, text in box can't be moved. To take the guesswork out of which to select and to avoid opening a new tab, PLEASE can we have teh indicative grey icon back again!
