Hi all. I'm experiencing a frustrating video playback issue in Firefox on my Mac. Whenever I move my cursor, the video becomes noticeably blurry until I stop moving it. Then it takes a second and returns to normal sharpness. This problem is exclusive to Firefox and doesn't happen in other browsers. One interesting quirk is that it seems like the lower the video resolution is, the more noticeable the blur appears.

I've already tried several common fixes, including disabling hardware acceleration and other graphics settings such as tinkering with gfx.webrender, but nothing has resolved it. I'm hoping someone on the forums might know if this is a known bug or if there's a solution I haven't found yet.

Specs: MacBook Pro w/ M1 Max (2021) macOS Sonoma 14.1.2 Firefox 143.0 (aarch64) ... but the issue has been going on for years so I doubt that the macOS or Firefox version has anything to do with it.

I'm at a total loss here and would be immensely grateful for any help.

Hi, Following the last update (3 or 4 days ago?) I no longer have access to the bottom of any of my Firefox main windows. No horizontal slide button to move the content in the window right or left, (just nothing at the bottom). I use my vertical scroll button to scroll all the way down. it stops, and there are no controls visible. I've refreshed my Firefox, rebooted and or restarted the computer and Firefox dozens of times changing settings - Tried hiding my task bar. Nothing changes after the last 3 days. If I have vertical tabs enabled, and tabs sidebar uncollapsed it will unexpectedly change to collapsed if I reorder a tab via drag and drop. See attached gif.

I have a pdf document with live hyperlinks to websites. However, when I click on them, they open in Edge and not my default browser Firefox. Any suggestions? Have set default browser to Firefox and default PDF to Acrobat reader.

Hi, I set up the vertical tabs and I like them. However they're very unstable and so is the tab sidebar. The expand on hover feature only works for a short time. Then the x to close a tab disappears and the sidebar gets stuck open or closed. If it gets stuck open, it covers the settings and AI and history sidebars so I need to close it manually to use them. Yesterday I lost 3 of my 6 pinned tabs. After closing and opening FF, they were just gone.

Also my tab groups will suddenly disappear. This started in the previous version and still happens, and I lose the sites I had collected. Plus FF has been very slow to load.

So yesterday I gave up and reverted to horizontal tabs. Like magic FF suddenly worked perfectly and very fast. I'm not enough of a techie to have any idea of what is causing what and would really appreciate any advice.

the last 2 times I have allowed firefox to update my computer, it moves my icloud file to trash, the last time this happened to get my icloud to work I had to reinstall the Icloud on both of my computers and then replace the files. Why does this system always want to update?

Hey everyone, I recently switched to Firefox and have been running into an issue: when I scroll down with my mouse wheel, the browser sometimes jumps back a page as if I had pressed the side mouse button.

I’ve tested my mouse in other apps and browsers, and the issue doesn’t appear anywhere else, it only happens in Firefox, which is confusing. I’ve tried looking it up but haven’t found a solution.

Has anyone else experienced this or know what might be causing it?

I really like the possibility of unloading tabs but still have them visible as I need to be able to backtrack some searches which are many levels deep. One thing I have discovered however, is if the tabs are grouped, you cannot unload them and that poses a problem for me as I have many many tabs that live in various groups across my tab bar. Is there any way of unloading these tabs while they reside in a group or is there a workaround I have not thought of yet?

WhatsApp and G messages won't stay fixed anymore, which is very inconvenient because you have to link them again every time the Windows computer closes. Have tried to put them in the Multi account container, but that does not help. Is there another way to install these two programs and let them remain fix, as they used to be....?

I use vertical tabs and the new tab group feature which allows you to assign a group heading for 1 or more tabs. When I right click on a tab I can create a new tab group. Below this option is a button labeled "Closed Groups". If I want to use one of these and check it, the tab I want to assign to it is closed and the group name is not listed in the sidebar. It seems the "Closed Groups" can no longer be used. There is no way to get rid of them and I end up creating duplicates as new tab groups with the same names. I want to either delete the Closed Groups or be able to reuse them. Any solution for this problem?

Hi. I've been having trouble with Firefox.

When I enter a certain website (https://app.helpwise.io/) using my PC, after a few minutes my internet connection gets disabled. When I try to run 'Diagnose Network Problems' in Win11, no issues.

First time this happened, a restart fixed the problem. Second time, a DNS flush fixed it. But after that, those solutions don't work anymore.

I initially thought it was that website (which I use for work) but I tried running that website on my Android phone using Firefox as well and I did not have any connectivity issues.

So, I tried running the website in Chrome - no issues. I did work side by side with Firefox opened as all my bookmarks for work are there, and eventually after a few hours my internet was disconnected again - even though https://app.helpwise.io/ was not opened in Firefox.

I have tried refreshing Firefox, then disabling all extensions and running https://app.helpwise.io/ and still it immediately disabled my internet.

There are some times that it even turned OFF my Avast anti-virus.

I have tried running Avast and Malwarebytes and no virus or malware was detected.

I still want to use Firefox and I'm now thinking of formatting my computer. But when I run Firefox again after formatting, I may have the same issue.

Can anyone help?

I am getting a Secure Connection Failed error on every webpage I try to visit. Even if a page manages to load it will revert back to the Error code: PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR if I refresh. Other browsers are working fine. I tried troubleshoot mode and it's the same. I tried uninstall/reinstall, desktop restart and still the same. I haven't changed any settings on my mac.

I am running the latest update for Firefox (143.0 (64 BIT) on a Windows 10 Dell laptop. Since the update on August 28th (prior update), my browser has been extremely slow, even with only one tab open. Task manager shows 95% memory usage after 15 minutes of browsing, and I have to end task on Firefox, then reopen the browser. I have run my Webroot antivirus and Malware Bytes, and my laptop is coming up clean.

I am not fond of Microsoft Edge, but I wanted to see how it performed. I have no issues with speed, so I can only guess that this is a Firefox issue.

Are there any known issues with the August 28th update?

I seem to have installed the YouTube webapp on Firefox when I clicked 'add tab to taskbar' that's new in 143. It shows up as recently added program on Windows. When I go to find the origin it leads to Firefox.exe. I can't find a way to uninstall through the browser or on Windows. Does anyone know how?
