I've ALL Mac. Desktop, laptop, i-pad, i-phone - oh, and I've got a Lenova for an exercise program that's in the mix. I can't seem to get any syncing done. I see notices that it's happened, but the tabs on none of the devices line up. I also tried syncing with/to/from my iphone. I got you QR Code and had to use the Iphone camera to scan it in. I got a message that I have to do it from within Firefox - but all I can get there is something KROLL. And that's an internet URL/page. I can't find a way to scan the QR code with that app hogging my screen. I've attempted to scroll/dump that tab but when I open up Firefox again...it's still there.

Dear all, I am searching the mozilla knowledge base and the internet, but I cannot find a solution to a simple problem. I used everything. Example: I would like to have my data saved and synchronized between devices after logging into my email so that I don't have to keep logging into the selected website. I also want websites other than exceptions to be deleted from the history after closing the browser. On computer A, I installed Firefox, created an account, and then added specific websites to the exceptions so that cookies would not be cleared when closing the browser. The account was synchronized. On computer B, I logged into my Mozilla account, and these saved websites require me to log in.

Thanks for your support.

Best regards, Maciej

Hi, I’m having trouble keeping my bookmarks in sync between my Windows laptop and Android phone using Firefox Sync.

I’m logged into the same Firefox account on both devices, and Sync is turned on. However, new bookmarks I add on one device don’t appear on the other.

I’ve already tried:

Signing out and back into my Firefox Account

Forcing a manual sync

Checking that both devices have the latest Firefox version

Is there a way to manually trigger a full re-sync or reset the Sync database without losing data? Thanks in advance! 🙏

I currently actively use Firefox on three devices, my old laptop with Windows 10, my new laptop with Windows 11, and an Android mobile phone. In the past I've had largely positive experience with the Account sync feature, but after logging into my profile on Win11, my mobile phone seems to disappear from the list (opened tabs), or seems to automatically log out of my profile.

look, i have no idea if this is a bug, but i have been dealing with this for over a month now. i even have tried to use what was suggested, still does it. it all started AFTER i used mozilla sync, now for some reason it forces me out of my accounts every time i try to restart my browser, forces me to log back into them, then does it again if i close out mozilla at any point after to make sure it isn't about to sign me out another time.

it's getting frustrating because i am tired of losing my history, my bookmarks, and my extensions. this is also reaching a point i am considering changing web browsers because it won't fix after trying the suggestion given before of deleting the files.

On my windows 11 machine, Firefox requires me to re-log into my Mozilla account every few days (there is a yellow triangle on the Account extension, which when clicked, has me to log into my Mozilla account). I have tried several troubleshooting steps:

1) Create a new profile and set it as the default profile 2) Completely uninstall and reinstall Firefox using the steps in the following article, including removing user data. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/uninstall-firefox-from-your-computer

I'm using Firefox on a Mac and my iPhone and I don't experience this issue. I am logged into my account on both devices.

Thanks,

Paolo

I've been using Firefox on device A computer in the evening, and the next day, after opening device B computer from sleep, a tab was open from the device A session (along with some older tabs I kept open, it was placed at the most right location). I am 100% certain I did not have that tab open from previous session on B.

The only way this tab would be able to appear on device B is if I somehow triggered a "send tab to device" functionality when working on device A, however, I am 100% sure I did not. Seeing how I would have to right click the tab and select a submenu to trigger that, it seems essentially impossible that I did that by accident.

Q: 1. Is there a keyboard combo that could be accidentally hit that would trigger Send tab to device? As far as I could research, there is no such shortcut. 2. Can a website trigger this API and perhaps I approved it by accident? I would definitely also notice this. 3. Is there a sync audit log I could check on either device to see if a tab was synced? I found about:sync-log but nothing really useful in there.

This event is so weird that I am considering secirty aspects or a potential exploit vector..

This is by now more of a complaint rather than a question, since I already "solved" my problem (manually, by redoing all the affected changes). I'm writing this here in the hope it gets considered/solved in future Firefox updates, and I couldn't find a better place to write (sorry, I also didn't look too hard, since I've already lost some time manually "fixing" the scramble).

The context: I use Firefox currently in three different computers, with a login to cross-communicate my settings, add-ons, and specially, my bookmarks. I use Firefox bookmarks so much that most of my job is saved within them. One of those computers I hadn't used Firefox in a while, and yesterday I had to, and had to log back into my account in that machine. First weirdness was when it took so long to sync my favorites that I gave up and went to do something else. Then this morning in my main computer I realize that old bookmarks from that computer had synced BACK to my main one.

The problem then, is that instead of syncing the bookmarks by the last changes made by me, it got old bookmarks from the old login. I wonder if I had been using a new computer if the system would consider "no bookmarks" as my new bookmark list... sorry, I jest. I know the system apparently only brought bookmarks back and (as far as I know for now) didn't took them away (but it should, since many were deleted or moved for being no longer useful), but I think this whole experience shows that the system should be looking at individual changes by timestamp to each one, not whenever the whole set was saved, and specially: do not save a set BEFORE syncing.

Plus, this made me wish for an option to undo synchronizations or save a current set for later reboot, so we could have more control over it.

I really use these bookmarks a lot, and they're basically the biggest reason why I stick to Firefox.

Recently I uninstalled then reinstalled Firefox on my Samsung A71 because I couldn't remove a timer I set on the app. I continued using Firefox on Android as usual for about three or four days but tonight I discovered that my Android history isn't syncing up to Windows 10 Firefox on my HP Pavilion. I signed out on Android, then signed back in again but my Android history still didn't appear on Windows. I tried several more times, using both the QR code and my email. I then uninstalled FF on Android and reinstalled and signed back in again but only a few items appeared in my Windows history. Android won't show me my current tabs on Windows as I type this either and the sync now button is doing nothing. Is there anything I can do fix this?

(P.S. both versions are up to date)
